I've heard this works wonders?

Javita Coffee. Has anyone heard of this stuff? Tried it? I'm trying to lose those last 10-15lbs, and I've heard it's AMAZING, BUT.......I want real life testimonies.

I wouldn't put any faith in products sold for weight loss. Trust a calorie deficit and patience ♥

Not sure about "Javita", but one change I made to my eating plan this year was that I was able to cut out a couple 100 calories each day by drinking all my coffee black. (Helps to use a quality coffee of course).
  • I have personally drank Javita.... it tastes AWFUL!! and gave me the wicked diahrrea (tmi sorry lol)....plus expensive, not worth it
  • Sadly I doubt it does! So many gimmicks out there that just make the wallet lighter and not our bodies >< Cal counting and exercise are the only things that work, plus time :O

I have a "friend" selling Javita on FB.

She is ranting about losing inches and inches without changing her diet or doing exercises... AND she is ranting about how much money she is making. That last part was enough for me to delete her...

Come on people! No miracle coffee in the world will make you lose weight and gain muscle etc etc...

Calories defficit + working out will... But people don't want to hear that: it's not easy enough for them!

If anyone ever does invent a real 'miracle' weight loss food, drink or pill, you won't have to learn about it from the social internet. It's going to be the top story on all the world news. It's all snake oil. They're preying on gullibility and fear and hope.

    Just another MLM company.

"It's a standard MLM. Whether it's a scam is pretty subjective to your definition, but I'd feel comfortable calling it one. This company is built around a standard MLM structure, where the product being sold is a pretty minor detail.

Consider they're selling 34 boxes of coffee for $999 or 14 boxes for $499, and they're selling on eBay for about $32 per box. People aren't making a ton of money selling this coffee, other than Javita selling it to hopeful entrepreneurs. There's also selling it through your referral link to the Javita site, which would consist of spamming your link to forums and comments on the internet in hopes that the spam filter doesn't block you and the hundreds of other people doing the same thing.

Then there's recruitment. That's where the money for their members comes from. Since your family is bragging about how much they're making, I would guess that they're either getting the bulk of it from recruitment bonuses or they're lying. It is definitely possible to make big money this way, but there's a couple things to consider. One is that those people you recruit are either earning less than minimum wage (maybe even less than $0) or making most of their money from recruits as well. So the money never actually comes from anywhere (like coffee), just from pulling more people into a game that's stacked against the majority of players. The second consideration is that if they're so successful at recruiting people, they may be able to use their sales talents to make more money elsewhere.

Aside from that, there's a personal cost with these. To succeed at an MLM business, you need to constantly sell it. This could piss off your friends and family.

See also: Mary Kay, Primerica, Amway, Janglefish, Metabolife, Cutco/Vector, or ten thousand others - they're all MLM companies that sell a legit product, but I'd be surprised if selling that product was a larger part of their revenue than their recruitment, or if the average income of all associates was higher than minimum wage.

Most companies don't talk about money constantly. Even entrepreneurs will generally be passionate about their business and product, rather than just talking about how rich they'll be and what kind of car they'll drive and how they're making so much money. In MLM companies it's different - they just flash mansions and cars in front of you."

Tried Atkins about a decade ago. Despite eating lots of green veggies to try to get some fiber that diet also gave me wicked diarrhea on a very regular basis. I also lost a ton of weight but it wasn't worth it.

I want to second that comment. I drink my coffee black and it is a huge calorie savings. Yes, you need quality coffee. (The cheap stuff is really bad for you anyway.) I roast my own and it tastes fabulous.
