Workout shoes

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on workout shoes. I like to do TurboJam but anytime that I do the workout my arch feels like its tearing into two. So I was checking to see if there were any recommendations out there for a crosstrainer shoe that would help with this problem. Thanks

I wear Nike shox for my Turbo workouts. That's what Chalene is wearing too. But they aren't really good at stabilizing the ankle. So if you have loose ankles, be careful. You might just try orthodics. You can get "custom" ones from Dr. Scholl's now at this little kiosky thing.0

I love Saucony. I have had issues with Plantar Facitius (I think I spelled that wrong...) in the past. I went to a running store and was fitted for shoes. A. I was wearing the wrong size and B. I was wearing the wrong kind of shoe. They put me in a pair of reasonably priced Sauconys ($65 and I just bought another replacement pair for $45) and my feet felt like they were home. I haven't had any problems since and they're a well made shoe. I suggest going and getting fitted for a shoe by someone that knows what they're talking about. Tell them what hurts and when and they'll help you pick the right pair FOR YOU. The fitting is almost always free and you don't have to spend a small fortune on shoes. What's most important is that your shoes are giving your feet a hug everytime you put them on. :bigsmile:0

there is a lot of research on shape ups causing serious ankle injuries (google them for more information). Shape ups should ONLY be worn for walking - not running, not training, not aerobics. My daughter just had a pretty serious fall on a treadmill - her ankle turned due the curvature of the sole of the shoe - they are NOT safe for anything except walking. The person who sells you the shoe should tell you this information - please do the research and read about some of the injuries others have suffered wearing these shoes.

Unfortunately, everyone's "best workout shoe" is going to be different. Through trial and error, you can find the best shoes for you. It also depends what kind of workouts you're going to be doing in the shoe. Do some research online and then go try some shoes on and see what fits your foot the best.0

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm excited to go shoe shopping. I know that I am going to have to go get a good pair if I want to keep on exercising, instead of buying cheap ones all the time. Thanks alot guys!0
