I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to cope with blisters. I fractured my ankle 4 months ago and now that I can start back at the gym and running it is great but my physio got me to purchase some orthodic insoles and they are giving me huge blisters on the inside of foot in the arch. I have called the physio and she said to persevere and my feet will harden up but I am finding even walking painful. Anyone had the same issue or suggestions?

If you were running OK without insoles before the fracture. Why does your physio think you need them now?. Unless the fracture was displaced and your gait has changed I can't see any reason for them. I would personally be considering a second opinion of someone because if the orthotics were fitted properly you really shouldn't be getting blisters of any sort0

Yeah, the orthotics are intended to fit you properly and help. If you are getting blisters, that sounds like they aren't right for you. They aren't supposed to hurt or make things worse. That's my understanding. But, maybe it's different for different issues?0 -
Please get a second opinion!! I had a podiatrist who told me to keep exercising with shin splints and ill fitting orthotics purchased from his office. I finally went to another dr who discovered I had tears in the muscles and I had to take it easy for a YEAR! And new custom orthotics. You should have to let your feet toughen up or get blisters. Run to another opinion!!0

What kind of socks are you wearing?
What is your everyday shoe size? What size are your running shoes, and are they running shoes?
Were you fitted for said shoes?
Blisters are 100% preventable. "Persevere and harden up" is quack advice.0 -
I have New Balance running shoe and am wearing thorlo socks, I think I will just take the orthotics out and try running without. Thanks for everyones advice!0
