The closer you get to your maintenance weight (i.e., the lower your body fat percentage is), the harder it is to lose weight. It takes longer and requires more work. Patience, grasshopper.

I started at 231 and I'm now at 165 but it's so slow! It's just because you don't have the size to accumulate big losses anymore just hang in there, you'll lose the weight.

Yeah i've only lost about 50 pounds and i've reached a plateau and it SUCKS! I'm trying to have patience and hopefully incooperate some new workouts since I have to deal with a severly herniated disk in my neck that I found out I have in the midst of the journey :(

But yeah, just hang in there and don't give up!! You've come a long way, already, CONGRATS!
  • thank you guys im feeling more motivated now lol

Have you revised your calorie goals? You need fewer calories to maintain at 185 than at 234. If you haven't revisited your goals, do so. I'm told that MFP prompts you to do so after each 5 kg/11 lb. loss; I revise mine every 2.3 kg/5 lbs., so I haven't noticed.
  • JAJAJ TRUE THAT is just frutrating cause i put alot of focus and thanks i checked and yea my calories went down omg lol

I've been frustrated from day one as my losses have always only ever been about 1lb per 10 days, my body just doesn't let go. I even gained about 8lbs and had to re-lose them somewhere in the middle because I'd lost focus. I'm not sure if 20-30lbs is considered "close" but my loss has just always been slow. I've just learnt to accept my body- however a loss often means an actual happy dance!
As long as you KNOW you're working towards your long term goal just be happy with what you've achieved. I'm trying to enjoy a new lifestyle not diet! I'm getting better an not feeling guilt over my bad choices- I just correct them the day after!
