    Die Hard
  • Elf is definitely the best, good call! Followed closely by The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (of the Jim Carrey variety) you should give it a watch!

    For a "Christmas Theme" movie:

The b&w "The Bishop's Wife" with Cary Grant (as Dudley the Angel), David Niven (as The Bishop), and Loretta Young (as The Bishop's Wife).

The later color "the Preacher's Wife" was based on it, (with Whitney Houson as The Preacher's Wife) but not as good in my personal opinion.

For those who would have picked "Die Hard" ... check out "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"

Gremlins/Die Hard/Home Alone/Muppet Christmas Carol/Elf are all must haves for us during the festive season

That said we did watch It's a Wonderful Life this weekend and that was pretty good too - oldies but goldies

Oh and I almost forgot the Santa Clause with Tim Allen the others were pap but the first one was good

Die Hard is a fantastic movie, but that's a Christmas movie like Silence of the Lambs is an animal movie. Just the fact that it is set in December does not make it a Christmas movie.

That doesn't make sense, even Die Hard 2 was set at Christmas!

Die Hard takes place during an office Christmas party. Do you not remember the epic line: "Now I have a machine gun...Ho, Ho, Ho."??

My personal faves include: Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Elf, The Ref, Die Hard, and of course, the original Grinch cartoon.

It is about a man who goes through great lengths for his family on Christmas. Like walk barefoot on glass. That is a Christmas movie.

Die Hard and Gremlins for me.

I'm a sucker for Love Actually and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang too

Christmas Vacation, definitely. We have a family tradition of getting everyone together to watch it and busting out THREE (3!) deep fryers and making a fried feast buffet. Jalapeno poppers, eggrolls, hushpuppies, pierogies, the works. I will not be counting calories on that day.

Come to think of it, that's probably why I'm here in the first place

TNT used to have a tradition of remaking the classic Christmas Carol/Scrooge story every year, changing the setting/actors and putting a new spin on it every time. My favorite one was a version called Ebenezer which starred Jack Palance as the role of Ebenezer Scrooge and took place in a Western setting.
