Alright I'm here and I am trying to start this whole counting thing. It is already stressing me out. My name is Kristin and I am 23 yrs old living in Palm Harbor, FL. Personally I am looking to loose 15-20lbs and then tone whats left. I have never been able to find the energy, time, or drive to get this done. But I have made few changes in the past couple of months for instance I quit smoking cigarettes. Now I am ready to change what my body looks like. I am going to need a lot of help keeping on track. My first day and I can't believe its 3:30 and I only have 216 cal left to eat for the rest of the day. If anyone has any pointers for me as far as how to keep myself from being hungry all day and eating a large lunch. I work at a busy place and ususally don't get to eat until after 2 and by that time I am STARVING. I am looking foward to hearing from everything. And thank you in advance for the support.

Lots of fruits and veggies! Fruits and veggies go a long way and you can eat a lot of them. I have apples with peanut butter or a mini veggie tray (2 celery stalks, a cup of carrot sticks, a cup of cherry tomatoes and a few slices of cucumber) that I use a little balsamic with or just eat plain. Whats great about the veggies is if you don't finish them you can save them for later and they are "negative calorie food", which basically means it takes more calories to digest the veggies than the veggies contain but you still get all the nutrients!

Also, set a time schedule as to when you are going to eat and your body will become accustomed to it, I have 6 small meals a day, 7am, 10 am, 12:30p, 2:30p, 6p, and 8p. These times work with my fitness and work and kid schedule, find times that you know you can pack a snack or have a piece of fruit. It will take a couple of weeks to get used to it but you will find your hunger pains will get used to it too!

    Hi Kristin!
    Welcome aboard.
    I agree a bit w/ mnbarnum.
Fruit and veggies are a great because they are filling and low in calories and natures PURE fat free food.
If you are startving, it can be from two or more reasons but let me give you the MAIN TWO.
    Science states...
You burn 1 calorie a minute just being alive.
You do not have to DO anything to burn that calorie! You just do.
    THAT ROCKS!
Meaning that by just being you, you will burn 1441 calories in a 24 hour time frame.
    WEE HAW!
Most of the time, if you have eaten at 7:00 AM, by 10 you can stand to eat something. By Noon you can stand to eat again, and then by the time you get home you can stand to eat again. Meaning that when you feel hungry, your body has burned off the calories that you have consumed so far, and it is time to replunish calories again. If you did not eat enough calories to take you to the after work hours you are going to feel like you are STARVING! AND in a way you are.
The other science fact states that our bodies do not know the differance between hunger and thirst.
So before you eat through the kitchen like a bear getting ready to hibernate, Try drinking a tall galss of water. wait 5 minutes, If after that you still feel hungry, Yep, you need to eat something.
    I hope this helps.
