Weird Question

I thought of this at about 1 AM. If I were to eat my calories for the day in REALLY salty pizza, but not go over my maintenance, yet gain (with my body, lol) a good 5 pounds in water weight, the next day or two would I burn a substantial amount of more calories by doing squats with the extra 5 pounds of water, or would it all be counter productive? I guess what I'm asking is if I eat 1,400 calories in pizza, gain ~5 pounds in water, when that water weight is gone will I be less weight than what I started at because of the exercise? Or something.

A very good question, and I would answer yes....but only marginally. An extra 5 pounds probably wont make a significant difference in the amount of weight your legs, and related areas, have to oppose. It would be the equivalent of holding two 2.5 pound dumbbells as you squatted.
What you could do is grab a backpack and load it up with bottles of water. A standard 20 ounce bottle of water weighs about 1.25 pounds (1.303125 minus the plastic), and a standard liter weighs about 2.25 pounds (2.204684 minus the plastic). This would allow you to tailor the added weight to whatever you desire.
Additionally, pizza is awesome.0 -
why wouldn't you just add five pounds to the bar…?
this is why people should sleep at 1am...0 -
Hilarious! Thanks0

it depends on how many toppings the pizza had on it.
more toppings = heavier pizza = more calories you will burn0 -
yeeeeeeaaah, you might be overthinking this.

for reals?....
add a lot more than 5lbs to the bar and get to squatting.
pizza can be had too, but it's not going to help with your squatting.0
