Plateau

So I've hit a plateau.....again. This happened a couple months ago and I went wild with my eating....gaining almost 10 pounds back. I'm not going to let it happen this time, although with Christmas next week - it's going to be hard. I've been going up and down with the same 2 pounds. I wanted to be down 5 pounds by Christmas - then my first goal would have been hit, but that's not going to happen. I did purchase a used exercise bike to try and change up my exercising (all I do right now is walk). I also have a hard time what to take to work for lunches........I have a habit of taking the same things and then getting bored. Any suggestions on food, and how to break the plateau would be appreciate. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holidays!!

Have you tried adding strength training? This sometimes helps. I have also hit the dreaded plateau and have for a while now, been gaining and losing the same 5-8 lbs forever! Now instead of focusing on the scale....because it lies to me...I am focusing on something else....like bringing my body fat percentage down.
Also is losing weight really attainable for your body now? My body likes muscle so once it starts developing more I won't lose much weight, it will be replaced with muscle which weighs more so make sure that its even attainable.
As for lunches, have you tried planning ahead? I used to make my lunches the night before so I knew what I was eating for calories and would be able to switch it up more easily so not to get bored.
Hope some of that helps.
