where your food comes from!!!

I have gotten a lot of grief over the price I pay for my food and the stigma behind where I shop is just for yuppy rich people. When I try to explain myself no one wants to listen and think I am lying. Well guess what I'm not I'm a truck driver that has hauled your food for years and years and I've seen what happens from shipper to truck to receiver.
First, some background on food handling on this side of the fence. Over 75 % of trucks pulls a refrigerated trailer have under 1 year experience and little to no knowledge on refrigerated trailers. Trailers go from hauling bloody improperly temp controlled to throwing your "organic" big box food without being washed. Drivers turn off the refrigerator to save fuel causing your food to go to unsafe temps. Meat that should be frozen being cross contaminated with unfrozen non meat products to save fuel money. Etc etc. Then you get to the receiver who does not care that this is happening then unload your food and leave it in open air for hours heating up growing bacteria and meat spoiling. Only to be loaded into local trucks going to your favorite stores. This is an epidemic that doesn't only affect small store but huge box stores that swear to you it doesn't happen and that their food is safe and organic. But I promise you its not.
I've seen meat spoil the smell is unforgettable and then sold in front of me. I've seen bugs with social security numbers come out of boxes. I've seen blood leak out of trailer doors with produce on it. I've seen docks drop food on the ground, sweep it up, put it back in the box and then into the truck. People going to the bathroom not washing their hands coughing on food everything you can think of. That is just keeping it PG.
Eat local eat from trusted organic ONLY stores research who owns them and where their food comes from ask questions. Pay the extra dollar don't be cheap because that is costing your health. Just because it says one thing can mean the exact opposite. They show documentaries on animal care. Have you ever seen anything on trucks and docks? I can not say names due to risking my job but I promise you everyone you can think of is guilty. And if you don't believe me that's your choice but I am doing my job of warning you all. I am a safe carrier and will always be one but one can not change the industry and until people see and believe you will always have this problem.

I've seen bugs with social security numbers
Is this a reference to their age?

No the size of them dead or alive they get in. Cheap stores tell us to stick a hose from our tail pipe into the trailer to kill them. Before they unload it so they can clean off their boxes and put them on the shelves.0

Hey, the exhaust probably cleans off all the pesticides from the produce, too... so, it's win / win.0 -
I inspect my food before I buy it and again before I cook it. I wash any veg before I eat it.
Guess what? I'm over 50 (now that's "years and years") and have never had food poisoning.
Organic is a waste of money to me. The grocery store is just fine for what I don't grow, ferment, or hunt myself.0 -
Doesn't proper cooking kill bacteria? And as for bugs: extra protein. WIN!0

So, what about eggs? We all know where they come from.0
