Calorie Intake + Weight Loss Help

Hi I'm sort of confuse about how many calories i should eat + how long I should exercise and etc to loose weight I'm 4'11 , 103 pounds and my goal is like 100 pounds for now until the end of the winter break, I eat from 1200-1600 (the most i ate is 1900 calories) a day, but burn 1200 from exercise and have a bmr rate of 1160 ( the estimate from MFL) and I kind of hitting a plateau for the past month, is my body on "starvation mode" should I be eating more or am I exercising too much like I want to loose weight the healthy way without depriving myself of eating food or even more if I'm already am..

It's hard to say without seeing your diary.
What kind of exercise are you doing? How long are you doing it? How do you know you are burning 1200 Calories a day?
At 115lb i would have to do 2.5 hours of Zumba a day to burn 1200 Calories.

    Are you weighing your food?

Don't worry about starvation mode, it doesn't apply here. If you are not losing weight, you are eating more than you think, or burning less than you think.

    phttt typos
  • I usually go for the elliptical trainer, circuit training, treadmill etc for about 2-3 hours everyday and but no I haven't been weighing my food.

Are you using a heart rate monitor or machine/MFP estimates to determine your burn? MFP and gym machines have been known to overestimate calorie burns.
  • yeah i usually get my calorie exercise burns calculated from workout machines

are you traininG for a marathon or some other event? if not there is no need to do 2-3 hours of cardio every day...

you want to lose 3lbs... you need a small deficit (0.5lb per week) and some resistance/strength training and make sure you are eating plenty of protein cos with all that cardio all you are doing at the moment is waving bye bye to your LBM

I would not use the burns from the machine....I suggest getting a heart rate monitor for a burn count that is a little more dependable. :-)
  • yeah i eat alot of protein after my workout, kay thanks (:
