Hi guys
Please could you help me. I'm going to a Latin American dance festival in mid February and have about 8 weeks to:
a) get fit
b) get my body in the best shape for dancing
c) lose 4lbs (which is really difficult for me as my diet is good and there's not much I can cut out)
Has anyone done any exercises specifically designed for dancers (eg core/ body isolation etc)? Any tips on how I can lose 4lbs without cutting anything else out of my diet? Any general tips for getting really fit in 8 weeks?
Thanks so much
Dxxx

4 pounds? Why is that precise amount so important to lose?
I'd have a look on YouTube for dance-based workouts, there's loads to choose from.0 -
Thanks so much Melanie. I'm about 8st 11 at the moment and at my best I was 8st 7lb, so I want to be that weight when I go to the festival.. I don't want to lose any more than 4lbs as I would be underweight. Will have a look on youtube. Do you know any particularly effective exercises? Thanks Dxxx0

When you're at an already healthy or even low weight, then losing any more pounds is a really slow and difficult process. I would suggest that trying for half a pound a week is going to be tough, which is why I think you might be setting yourself up for disappointment. I wouldnt worry about those 4 pounds, it sounds like you're a good weight as it is. So just work on the fitness side of things and put the scales away.
What types of dancing do you enjoy? Zumba routines are based on Latin music, and they are very easy to find online.0 -
personally i use to do Couch 2 5 k.... thats a walk run or jog till you get to 5 kilometers over about 9 week, it works really well on dropping those extra pounds as long as you don,t indulge and undo what you put in as i did a few times lol i do things the hard way sometimes, so i,m suggesting go out to a nice quiet road somewhere where it,s save and do some jogging with a buddy, google search couch 2 5 k there is also apps for your phone to train you . good luck the hardest part is getting out the door trust me you can do it :happy:0
