HELP! over 10,000 calories but scale shows 6 lbs gain!

Hey guys.. I need your help!! :( I do feel that I gained weight over this month.. I do see it.. not noticeable with me dressed but legs and my abdomen has fat.. anyway .. I logged everything and clearly I went over like 10,000 - 14,000 . That is like 3-4 lbs.. the PROBLEM IS THAT scale is showing more than it supposed.. AND NO. It;s not the waste. I did ate the same things (white bread, sweets etc_ moderatly for 3-4 days and all the waste got removed.. but scale still showing more than I overate in calories... :( HELP

Were you on a diet before this period of "indulgence"?
  • Unless you weighed your poop you cannot say "it's not waste" with any degree of certainly. You're probably also retaining water due to increased carbohydrate consumption. Give it a couple days of eating normally and your weight will go back down.
  • no :( I was eating 1700 cals
  • You're an 18 year old male, 1700kcal is not going to have made you gain 6lb. If your calories involved alcohol, or takeaways it'll probably be due to water retention due to salt/alcohol.

Also, your profile says you're in maintenance. An 18 year old male at maintenance would have to be eating more than 1700 on a normal day to maintain, especially if they're exercising too.

Find out your proper BMR/TDEE and up your water intake too. I aim for 3 litres a day, this will also help if it is water retention, as it can also happen if you're not drinking enough fluids.

Edited to add: Also, if you're just starting 'maintenance', and have been eating at a deficit for quite a while, you will automatically gain 5-7lb, this is because your body is replacing it's Glycogen stores
