Hi all!
I am more of a lurker on the forums since I can never get active on online communities. I work at a computer all day so when I get home, I dont even want to look at my laptop.
I started to seriously get into weightloss last year in April. I joined a gym, got a personal trainer, and just went 90 mph....then burned out real quick. I was working out harder, just not smarter.
The me on the left (April 2012) couldnt even run a half mile, the me on the right (Thanksgiving 2013) had just finished my first half-marathon a month before. When I started I was 286 pounds...yikes! Right now I am at 232 and still have a ways to go, but I am so much healthier, happier, more awesomer!
I have had my ups and downs over the last 18 months. I have issues with my left knee preventing me from doing squats and deadlifts and I have stress issues so my cortisol levels are all over the place. And lately I have been learning to tweak my diet so I can indulge in treats here and there but now I know which treats will cause me to binge. Its a learning process but something I am willing to go through to achieve a healthier lifestyle. This is not a diet, but something I will keep up with the rest of my life. I have done the whole lose-gain-lose-gain and I am sick of it.
I am off running now and doing biking or the elliptical to help with my knee issues. But nothing brings me greater joy than throwing around some heavy weights! I love it, and it seems to help me deal with stress. HAHA!
So, thats me..54 pounds and counting.
Stupid picture wont link....just look at my profile.

You look fabulous! Great transformation!! I love how happy you look in the running picture, despite the snow! I'm from southeast Michigan too, so I know that after a while you have to just get used to it. Keep up the wonderful work!0

Congratulations, Amanda! You look great!
Not only are you losing weight,
you're learning how to keep it off in the future.
Perhaps you can look online for some exercises
on how to strengthen your knees.
Best wishes on the remainder of your weight loss journey!0 -
Thank you, everyone!0
