Weight Loss plateau (slightly)

I was 142.6lbs on Friday and now am 142.8lbs so not really a plateau yet but I feel it's incredibly hard to see the numbers on the scale move down from this. I started my first session of strength training and toning yesterday - will do another one after Xmas.

Any tips I can apply for getting over a weight loss plateau when it does occur?

I've been at 142.x since I've been home so 14/12 I've eaten in calorie deficit and also have done exercise here and there

It sounds like you have a bit of a problem here. Your weight can change 4 to 5 pounds during a day. if you can't mentally handle these normal fluctuations you really need to weigh yourself less otherwise you'll just drive yourself crazy

I didn't have bowel movement for a few days that's why...

Btw I never said I was frustrated nor was that implied in my OP...

Oh I don't have a problem with it, I was wondering how you get through the plateau. I weighed myself on Friday, I read people weight themselves every morning which to me is extreme. I'll continue with (or improve) what I'm doing but won't give up on it.

oh my! .... when you've had a plateau for over 2 months on the scale then come on here and ask this question.
just keep at it and stop looking at the scale.
for me its about my clothes been looser, it is nice to see the scale finally budge when it does happen, but I no longer get hung up on it after the 2 months it didn't shift a thing.
I'd stepped up exercise and I think my body took its time changing and my muscles changed most definitely...
I know it is hard, but seriously best thing for you is to keep doing the good stuff and stay off the scales for a good few weeks, even a month maybe
    Good Luck :)

It's not a plateau unless it last longer than a month. So relax your body tends to react when u stress and get compulsive about these things.

Thanks, I'll definitely ease up on the scale checks and avoid getting worried about it in future. I've not hit a plateau yet luckily

    What plateau???

What you have described is not anything even remotely resembling a plateau.

This is why I like to graph my weight measurements. Then I can see if the trend is actually upward, or if it is only doing the typical "sawtooth" pattern of weight loss.

As with your stock investments, watch the long trends and ignore the daily fluctuations.

I measured my weight last week which showed no changes until today I think, I'm not sure.
