meal planning to reach macro goals

Although I'm losing weight, I'm having trouble reaching my macro goals..... I tend to go over. I'm using a scale...what should I do? Should I divide my protein and carb goals by 5 ( 3 meals and 2 snacks). Would I get better results if I stayed in my macro goals? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you MFP family

If you want to lose weight don't worry about going over your macros. All you need to worry is your calories. Whether you go over your protein, fat, carbs, etc has no effect on weight loss, it's all about calories. Tracking macros is important only if you have hard time consuming enough. Because if you want to gain muscle you need minimum amount of protein, carbs, fat, etc. You also need minimum amounts of all macros just to stay healthy. Which is hard to not reach unless you are starving on super low cal diet. But eating too much crates no difference. Neither does is matter if you divide them by many meals or ate them in one meal, it's preference, as far as you get in all you need at some point of day.

I think it's important to stick to your macros - there is more to life than losing weight. I don't think MFP macros are that great though, as they tend to be too low in protein and fat IMO.

I plan my meals days in advance so that I do meet my macro goals - I don't have a calorie goal at all!
