good morning everyone,
today i am back on my game. we came to visit my parents 1300 miles away from my comfort zone and boy was it a disaster. with my three little ones in tow, and my exercise tapes and weights i set off with glorious goals in mind. but i fell short of all my expectations. today is day 12 since we're here. i've put on 3 pounds since we left home. but today, i am back, stronger in my determination!!! (knowing that we're leaving in 2 days doesn't hurt much either, lol).
what i did discover is that i eat mindlessly when i'm stressed out. i guess that would make me an emotional eater. yesterday i had 8 mini 1000 grand bars plus my usual food. one argument with my mother and that was all it took. the most frustrating part is that there's no place to exercise at all in my mom's apartment and it's too hot to work out outside, especially since she won't babysit my little ones.
anyway, i'm looking forward to getting back on track and i hope i can do it again with you guys.
my progress so far, i feel if i tell you then i'm accountable.
i weighed 128 in sept. of 2007, i was 167 when we left to come visit my mom, now i'm back up to 171. i want to reach my goal of 136 before the new year. i hope it will come quick.
thanks for letting me bend your ear...you guys are truly always there for support and motivation or a swift kick in the butt...whichever is needed. you're the best.
thank you,
farrah

I hear you, travel is hard sometimes, especially when your kiddos are little. It will be hard, but you can do it. :flowerforyou:0

Hey! I know how hard it is! I was just on vacation visting family too. I was SO worried I would mess up and gain but I didn't. In fact I lost like 5 lbs! I am not trying to brag but I am trying to figure it out myself. I honestly think it just comes down to thinking differently. I mean, we went to a favorite local pizza place for the buffet. I had a little pizza and even a little dessert. I just managed to keep all my portions under control. I enjoyed my grandpas homemade sausage gravy and biscuits, but again, I didn't go overboard. In the past, I would have had a HEAP.
I wish I could help everyone to get into the frame of mind I have managed to get into FINALLY. I just completely changed my relationship with food. I don't view it as something to comfort myself with anymore. When I get stressed, I exercise or take a bath or come on here and vent! I don't know what exactly happened to change my thinking, but I am so grateful it did! You can do it too! Try to focus on food as something to nourish your body and to contribute to your overall health. When you start thinking of it that way, and when it truly sinks in, then it is actually very easy to eat healthier and just eat LESS.
Anyway, just know we are all here for you! You can do this!! Anyone can do it! Just treat yourself and your body with the respect you deserve!

You can reach your goal, 2lb a week has you where you want to be by Thanksgiving (just figured that out for you)
I have been here for 6 1/2 months, it's wonderful
Remember to try and:
1) Log it BEFORE you eat it, this can help you make wise choices
2) Weigh and/or measure everything, my eye was much larger than actual amounts :noway:
Wishing you much success :drinker:0 -
thanks so much for the reminder, sarah.:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
:glasses: I have a whirlwind adventure coming up in a few weeks with my family and I need to get my priorities straight before I go. I am going to plan what i am going to eat each day.
I have a program on my Iphone and I promise to use it!
everyone have a healthy weekend!! :bigsmile:0
