I have been using myfitnesspal for about 3 months. I love it. I've lost 23 lbs since I started using it. (53 lbs lost so far) My family bought me a LifeTrak 200 Core for my birthday and I'm trying to figure out the best way to use it with myfitnesspal. The LifeTrak uses pulse and movement to track calories burned. It appears to be fairly accurate so far. I would like to use it to make more accurate calorie projections. It does not sync with myfitnesspal like some other devices. Does anyone have any experience with this?

  • Hi! I am looking at these monitors and was wondering how you are liking yours? Have you figured out how to sync it with MFP? My concern is I have an android phone and the app isnt available on android, so I am hoping I could use it with MFP. Love to hear what you think! Thanks!

I just found one of these with a huge markdown (box was opened and the instructions were missing) at TJ Maxx. I have a BodyMedia armband that I can't use until my replacement strap (the 4th time I've had to replace it) comes in, and this was super cheap, so I bought it.

I like it so far, just wearing it around my office. Going for a run after work, so I'll see how it works with that. Since I like to geek out with this stuff, I'll probably even use it when I get my armband back on, just to see how it compares.

I have a body media and way back in the Stone Age before MFP and body media could sync I would do a manual exercise entry in MFP of "activity per body media" to get my MFP numbers closer to what I actually burned. I use my body media now to make certain I have my activity level in MFP set accurately and my daily automatic adjustment is minimal now. (It also gets me to move more if I'm going to have a negative adjustment!)

Have you had trouble with the plastic that holds the device in the armband breaking? I'm getting pretty tired of replacing the dang thing.

I've not had that problem (knock on wood!). The two issues I have had were the plastic around the sensors cracking (I think from sunscreen exposure) and it picking up activity when I've had it off body!
