I am just wondering what I need to do for slow weight loss.

I have no clue how to eat in moderation. Where do I begin? I feel so alone in this. I just want to lose weight gradually, just 5 pounds. I am so tired of counting calories. Counting carbs is not much easier and I haven't lost a pound counting carbs.

What's working for me is counting calories and eating the usual foods I would eat. I try to get about 25% of my calories from protein each day. I set my calorie goal to a small deficit, aiming to lose less than a half pound per week. It's very important to use a kitchen scale to weigh foods, and to be very careful not to overstate calories burned when logging exercise. That's pretty much it, though.

We all find it difficult, for various reasons. The calorie counting and food counting are the hardest at the beginning. It gets easier with time as you teach yourself through logging, learning the calorific value of specific foods. Even if you overeat, it is massively important to log all, so that you can come up with a plan where and what to change in your diet, to be successful. Good luck!

Your best chance of success is counting calories. This site does make it a lot easier though, esp. if you have a smart phone. It gets over whelmening when there is a lot of weight to lose, so smaller goals is also a good idea. it only takes me maybe five minutes a day to put all my calories in. Once you've been doing it awhile, it gets a lot quicker. Yes, you have to be strict on your calorie intake, but you can still enjoy a variety of different foods. My diary is open, if you want ideas.
