what do you guys do with leftover yummies from Xmas :(

There's a massive box of chocolates opened at my family's dinner table... I know there are many other sweets, more chocolates in the cupboards etc...
I'm back at day 1 of respecting the calories and eating right... If it were up to me and I was spending holidays alone I would throw out that box of chocolates (or give to the neighbours)...

How are you guys managing?

I help out at a farm a couple of times a week (along with a bunch of other people) and I take everything there: leftover cookies, makeup samples, whatever. So far everything has disappeared.

Figure out how to fit them into your dietary plan and eat them.

Me? Eat em. Chocolates last ages, so there's no need to eat them all at once. One or two a day for as long as they last.

If you won't enjoy them, or would rather eat other things, or if you have issues with bingeing on them, then why not give them away to friends, neighbours, work colleagues etc.

But... you seem to be implying you can't do that because other people are with you? If so, let them eat them! It can be a tough time if you struggle with controlling your intake, but the holidays will soon be over. By the way, I still struggle with this stuff even a year into maintenance, but I like to see Christmas as a good opportunity to practise moderation. You simply can't always control your environment, so it's essential to learn to cope when surrounded by temptation! :flowerforyou:

even if they don't, they are too good to pass up.
  • Put them in the freezer and take out a couple at a time until they are gone or have freezer burn.

I bagged up a bunch of cookies, fudge and candy so my husband can take them to his coworkers. Less tempation around the home.

I used to give them away to the neighborhood children back in the day. They'd come over daily to jump on the trampoline with my little sister and get a piece of candy. I didn't let them have any unless they jumped on the trampoline and worked it out lol.

Honestly this year I just had to throw them all out. I ate so much sugary goodness this year it's coming out my ears. (Except In my Christmas stocking was a box of gormet chocolate truffles, I saved those and hid them for a grouchy day.)
But everything else had to go! Cookies, tarts, candies...out the door!

I sent it all to work with my husband. The guys in his shop love me! I always send all kinds of goodies to work with him and tell him not to bring them back.
