Why is it I feel so guilty saying no to yet another cream cake in the office. People just dont get that I dont want to eat this kinda stuff anymore!!!! It is so hard .... but finally I think I have found a solution!!!! Instead of saying 'no thanks' or 'not for me' I have taken to accepting the goodies they leave on my desk and as soon as I see it I put it in a big brown envelope and stamp on it when they are not looking!!!!! No more 'go on a little treat wont break your diet' they think that I am scoffing it down just like them when actually it is a squishy mess and I am so pleased with myself for not eating it!!
Woo hoo, lets just hope nobody has a nosey in my bin !! xx !!

Rather say no so they get the clue versus appeasing others for no need of yours.
None the less intertaining way to get rid of the "evidence"0 -
Ha...I like it!!!0

Very creative although I think you should just them "no", tell them now how unhealthy of a choice that is for you!!! I bet the look on their face is priceless...0

hehe cute and good for you for sticking to your guns!!! Maybe try finding a low cal healthy treat to make and share with them0

Too funny! Whatever it takes, right? When I get something like that at work it usually goes straight into the trash.0

I just tell people I can't eat sugar or wheat because of food allergies. True on the wheat, and on the sugar I'm just not a big sugar girl, so it's easiest to just lump it with the wheat. People will get used to you being healthy and will stop asking when they see you are serious. I am proud to say no, if they are offended that is their burden, and likely because of the guilt they have for eating it themselves -- it's like the drunk who doesn't want to get tanked alone, they are trying to say it's okay for them because everyone else is doing it. It's a trap! Stick to your guns

I clearly say "NO Thanks." And then pass it on by. Last night in a late meeting (it literally didn't get started until 4:30 and didn't end until 6:00) they passed around this huge box of candy - chocolate bars, m & m's etc. They kept sending it around the table over and over for 1 1/2 hours. I kept passing the box on - as the meeting went on, I found that I was actually becoming irritated with the continuous passing of this candy. I finally set it on a table behind the work group and suggested that if someone "wanted" additional candy, they should help themselves. I probably saved others a ton of calories because only one person got up to get additional candy after that point. It is sooo hard to resist that kind of temptation. But I kept thinking - you will have worked 11 or 12 hours today by the time you finally get home from work. You WILL be very tired and while you WILL do at least 30 minutes of exercise - are you really going to WANT to do more than 30 minutes to compensate for the calories even one of those mini candy bars or small package of M&M's contain? I convinced myself that I would be too tired to do all of that, and so kept passing on the candy. And I was right I was barely able to do my 30 minutes on the recumbent bike last night after I got home and ate dinner (which i was ravenous after seeing all of that candy for such a long time).
So, yep, it is hard.

People can be so rude...thankfully the office I work in there is no pressure.0

I like to say I'm allergic, if they need more info than that I tell them it makes me brake out in pounds or pimples, which ever one will get the point across.0

I just tell people, "I am so sorry; but I am on a strict medical needs diet. I have to be very careful what I eat and when, so I planned out what I would eat today; and this just won't fit into today's plan." Its my health -- and that effects my medical needs -- if I don't take care of myself they certainly won't step in to do so.
Or you could try, "Sorry, I just don't like (what ever they are offering) thanks anyway." I find this has worked too.
Very good idea to remove the candy from the work table. Sounds like someone was trying to get rid of left over Halloween Candy by bringing it into the office.0 -
Good for you!
JUST SAY 'NO' TO THE FOOD PUSHERS!

Aww thanks for your mixed responses .... I have tried every which way and the plain and simple no thanks just doesnt cut it with them - I work with a bunch of numpties !!! They are not my friends so its not a case of not upsetting them - they just dont get it - they choose to be ignorant whereas I dont let it stress me out :-)0

Love it!!0

Fighting the good fight - but you know - you could tell them what you really do with in a joking way - and then say - but I'm not really joking and you guys don't take 'No, thanks' for an answer!0 -
I think you should mail them! TO ME!! haha.... No just kidding, but that was my first thought! "Omg....where is she mailing them to?"0
-
What a fab way to deal with numpties!!! Some people just don't get it and there's no telling them as they know best - idiots!0

 Sabotagers.... they feel better if they have company stuffing their face! lol.. I know I don't feel as bad is someone next to me is doing the same!0

funny.
it's weird that people don't push a pepsi on you, but when it's alcohol or cake, they insist you partake. why is that? if you don't want it, you don't want it. they shouldn't push.0 -
I like it. It accomplishes your goal and its just slightly mischevious too. We all need to be a little naughty.0

For sure0

Gee, good thing you don't have an issue with dairy/wheat products causing gas! A couple pooters and no one would offer you more!
(they make this neat thing that simulates the sound of "gas" being passed... not that *I* would ever have one of those):blushing:0 -
I work at a school and when a student brings in a sweet made just for me out of love I don't feel right saying "No thanks" so I just thank them, then re-gift it to a co-worker who will (and loves to) eat anything. Best of both worlds. The next day I might say something to the student like "I really love when people draw a picture for me" so that next time it will be a calorie free "I love you" gift.0
