My name is Tina.
I work as an A/R Manager for a trucking company.
I do in-home parties 4-6 nights a month.
I'm a wife to Chad (10 years in May)
I'm a Mother of three! Ages 4, 5, & 8

My goal here is to lose 50 lbs by the time I go to Mexico the end of February.
And an addtional 10-15 lbs by the time my baby sister gets married in May.

Anyone else in the same boat? When do you find time to workout? Do you workout everyday?

Is there any show you like to watch? Even if it's 8:00 pm at night, I'll exercise through my favorite shows. (usually after my kids are in bed)
  • Here too!
Work full time while my hubby stays at home with 2 of our 3 boys (6 yr old and twin 4 yr olds).
I was working out every night, then hurt my knee because I didn't have any rest days in there.

So now I am doing m,w,f cardio (30-45 mins) and t,th,s weights (45-1 hr).
Weeknights I exercise once the kids are in bed and hubby is at his pt evening job.
Weekends I am a bit more flexible.

It is tough, but SO rewarding!

Include your kids in your workouts. Either have fun with a dance video, or go on a walk or bike ride together.

Also, little things help, like parking far away from the building when you get to work, and taking only the stairs, instead of the elevator.

I work out 4-5 times a week. I love the YMCA... they have the Fit-N-Fun program that watches the kids while I burn in the Fitness Center.

    Hello Tina,

I am in a similar boat. I have an almost 3 year old son that keeps me very busy. My household consists of my son, his father/my bf, and myself. I work full time as an administrative assistant, I go to school full time for IT - Software Engineering. So I am pretty busy and pretty exhausted. I did manage to lose about 40lbs within the last year but I've put a few back on. So now I need to lose a total of 55lbs to reach my first weight goal. I've had a few setbacks and several periods of plateaus. As far as working out, luckily my company has a fitness center so during the week, I can usually get in a 45 min - 1hr workout in during my lunch. We typically do Beachbody workout DVDs (TurboFire, Insanity, P90X) - oh and I also find the time to be a Beachbody Coach. LOL. On the weekend, I usually try to work out when my son is napping. If not, I'll try to do it at least on Saturday even if he is awake and I just have to deal with him running into me and falling to the ground or trying to hide between my feet since he thinks it's funny. But as long as you keep moving, that's the important thing.

I work also and have 2 kids. A few things that have worked are working out after they go to bed (they still go to bed early, they're litte), working out while they are up....usually they try to do it it with me but sometimes they watch sometimes they just play but when they ask WHY I'm working out I say it's to keep my heart healthy, I never tell them it's to loose weight. I think it sets a great example on being healthy. I've been super unmotivated lately and my husband bought the XBox Kinnect and it's been fun and quite the workout. We've been running, boxing and jumping with the kids and we've also played after they go to bed.
    Best of luck!
  • I try to do my cardio in the morning before I get ready for work (it is hard to wake up that early - didn't make it today  ) and then for me it is hard to get to the gym during the week because I vanpool so I go to the gym on Saturday and Sunday to work on the resistance machines. Once in a while I do manage to make it to the gym during the week and I take the baby to give my husband a break. He stays home with our three kids.

Yes, it's hard! I wake up early before everyone else to work out, because once I walk in the door from work it's non-stop until the kids are bed. Sometimes if there is a hockey game on and my husband is watching, I can sneak in some work out time then too. It's not easy, but it has to be done!
  • I don't work, but I go to school full-time and have a 2 and 5 year old that still need a lot of attention. My husband is overseas (although home right now on leave) so it's hard for me to fit in everything. I don't always get in a "proper" workout, but i do log other things like walking on campus between classes. taking stairs instead of the elevator. shopping and pushing around a cart full of 2-year-old and groceries. cleaning house. sometimes those things have to count as my exercise for the day. i could probably lose more if i got to the gym everyday, but it's just not possible for me and i am losing weight as it is, so i'm satisfied. I also have exercise "games" on Wii so I can workout after the kids go to bed if i didn't make it to the gym. Hope this helps a little. It's hard to manage everything and not have something get neglected...

I know I need to get my butt out of bed in the morning because by the time I get home from work, do homework with the kids, make supper, clean up from supper, answer emails, make phone calls, bathtime, bedtime with the kids I'm completely and utterfly exhausted all I wanna do is sit on the couch. Lazy I know hence why I need to lose 50+ lbs. :grumble:
