Alcohol Mixers

Here's the challenge - I'm cutting back on my drinking to help with weight loss (and going to start logging my drinks, ugh), but I'm still going to drink on the weekends (hey I'm a 20 something and I like both going out and watching football, sue me haha). I normally mix with diet coke to cut back on calories (rum & diet, bourbon & diet), but I want to also reduce my soda intake.
Any ideas for low or no cal mixers that aren't soda? Thanks!

There are some mixers that are low in calories, but you may just want to go with vodka on the rocks or with a twist of lemon.0

Bourbon. Neat.0

Haha I appreciate the tips but I'm not sure I'm awesome enough to drink it straight0

Mio flavoring goes pretty ok with booze + water.
Seltzer water I don't count as soda but I'm not sure how you feel about that because it is soda-like. But I like to mix with the la croix flavored. No sweetener, no calories, lightly carbonated.
Spiced rum goes well in cinnamon tea! Add a bit of honey if you like. Hot toddy~
Coffee is a pretty good mixer too.
Long Island ice tea is pretty much all alcohol, just a tiny bit of sour mix and coke, and you can get it in any bar!
Now that I'm more calorie conscious, I'll spend extra money on nicer alcohol, and drink it on the rocks.

just drink it!

Ah yes, the terrible idea of logging drinks.
Try burbon and crystal light lemonade (its actually not terrible if the lemonade isnt too sweet), if youre out just get it with lemon water. As far as rum, i like it with watered down pineapple juice (but, it isnt great calorie wise) .0 -
club soda, water with lemon/lime garnish0

Just remember that each shot of, say, Bacardi is 100 calories. Captain Morgan, 150 calories. And that's if the drink the bartender makes you only contains one shot. If you drink 10 Rum and Diet Cokes, you're drinking somewhere between 1000-1500 calories, depending on the rum.0

If you're trying to stay away from aspertame and other artificial sweeteners then club soda is good.. If you just want something different than soda I like the flavored seltzer waters.
If you just want something different than coke I love love love diet cream soda, mixes with everthing and tastes delicious
Also a vodka or gin martini with a twist is pretty low calorie its just alcohol and citrus juice You can order it dirty with olives and olive juice but that adds a little more calories0 -
I use diet tonic water for gin and vodka tonics.0

Thanks for all the tips! I'll have to experiment a little
How weird do you guys think it would be if I ordered like a vodka water and then walked away and squirted some mio in it?0 -
In my town Whiskey and Ginger doesn't actually have ginger...
it is:
Jameson (usually)
seltzer
splash of bitters
squeeze of lemon0 -
That is worth a try.0

It's not weird at all! A few of my friends order vodka waters and then put Crystal Light packets in it. And since they're meant for big bottles of water, a packet can last you a few drinks.0 -
My preference is vodka and RedBull, but only because I love RedBull... you could always ask for the sugar-free RedBull in yours.0

I also like vodka and Sprite with a lime, which you can use diet Sprite instead.0 -

I would never think to do that, but it's a good idea. The last bar I went to, I had rum and diet, but I don't mind drinking soda once in a while0 -
Thanks again for the tips! I'm going out tonight so maybe I'll pocket my Mio and see how it goes!0
