My birthday and Christmas are both coming up. This would be an awesome gift. I want one that is reliable, of course, but not tons of money. And one that is sturdy enough to go running/jumping with. Links so I can see them would be awesome.
Thanks bunches!

  • Polar F6, I love it!! But, you need to research a little to see which one will be hte most beneficial to you and your workouts. Good luck!

Polar F6 for me for the last 3 years. Also, check and see if your flexible spending account will cover it (if you have one) because mine did!

This is the one I have:

I even use it to track calories when I swim!

It was $99 when I bought it. Regardless of which one you go with, I HIGHLY recommend one with a chest strap. They are the most accurate. My husband has a cheaper model (no chest strap) and it's very incosistent.

I have a Garmin HRM + GPS multi-sport watch. It's an older model which keeps the price in a nice range considering what it does:

I can't imagine going on runs anymore without knowing exactly what my pace and milage is anytime I want to look. :)

Thank you, that is great. I was wondering how the chest strap works with the watch....if you don't have the chest strap, does the watch monitor constantly by itself or do you have to do random checks (like push a button)? I want one with a chest strap, but just trying to figure out the difference b/w the two.
    Thanks!
