How do you link a video to a thread?

There's this code that supposedly works on all forums that goes something like this:

what this code is supposed to do, is it's supposed to embed a video straight into a post, that way you don't need to copy-paste a video link just to see the video.

Why won't it work on these forums?

    Because this forum isn't setup properly to display that sort of media.
    You can just post the link and a .gif of the video, though :)

    How do you post GIFs?

    Copy this, in lowercase, no spaces, inside the brackets, replace the link I posted:

    Yup! No problem.
    OH, and don't forget, it must end in .gif

    Or .png for flat images.
