Sick of salads

I eat a salad every day for lunch, usually half spinach and half iceberg lettuce topped with raw veggies and black beans. I'm just so sick of salads. When I have access to a stove or microwave I will steam cod for a change up, and once on awhile go for a toasted tuna sandwhich. What do you do for lunch? I'm looking for some easy whole food clean eating lunches cuz i am soooo sick of salads!

  • I go through the same thing, salad overload! I like making soup or stew in the crockpot and taking it for lunch in the fall and winter. Although at Christmas, my friend made a great kidney bean/chickpea oil and balsamic vinegar salad. She uses it as a salad topper as well, I will be making salads about two or three times a week with this for awhile. I think the key is to alternate your lunches, I forget this sometimes and get sick of the same old same old.

I hardly eat salads, and then I look forward to them because I don't eat them all the time. You can cook anything, freeze/refrigerate it in portions appropriate to your calorie requirement and then just eat that if you have a microwave. That's all I do, look for interesting recipes, and then make enough of them for the week's lunches for me and my husband.

I throw some grilled chicken coated with morrocan spice into a salad with some egg & a bit of cheese. Or I look out for pre-packed salads from the supermarket with different things in it (crunchy salad, carrot, cabbage, celery etc.). My PT used to say that eating the same thing was the key but it does get SOOO boring.

I mix tongol tuna (no salt added) with garbanzos and add homemade dressing made with olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, and paprika. The dressing along with full cans of tuna and garbanzos total 810 calories, loaded to the gills with protein.

Cold weather vegetable dishes include a mixture of 1/2 onion, 1/2 potato, and 2 oz. cheddar along with garlic powder: 393 calories, 18g protein, and scads of potassium. I also nuke cabbage (99 calories for 3 cups, also high in potassium) and enjoy it. plain.

I adore salads. The only thing that keeps me from them is when I feel cold and want a hot meal.

I love salads! You can eat garden salad with cucumber, tomatoes & cucumbers and some feta cheese. Also my favourite is : 1 tomatoe, half cucumber, fresh onions, green paper, and cheese! It's so yummy.

i love salads, but i really switch them up...and usually don't even use lettuce. I use a variety of veggies (shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, snap peas, bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumber, etc) and will add something like hot peppers or olives or beets marinated in vinegar to add some bolder flavors to the mix of veggies. I always add a protein, sometimes it's chicken, sometimes edamame, or cheese or nuts...oh sunflower seeds are yummy too, or a combination. I think the trick to not getting bored is to vary the tastes and textures. It's also nice to add one warm ingredient to the salad...lightly sauteed mushrooms have a meaty taste. For me "salad" is just a general term for any meal I make that is primarily raw veggies and a protein.

I buy chicken and steaks and put them in the crock pot with some vegetables. makes enough for the whole week of lunches. No salad involved.

since you are eating clean, does this mean you want to raise farm chickens and butcher them yourself? I don't have the space for cows, but chickens take up so little room. a small yard can have a garden and chicken coop.

You should meal prep. Cook a weeks worth of food on Sunday then store it in 5 different containers. I usually do lemon pepper grilled chicken, brown rice, and a veggie… usually broccoli, asparagus, or mushrooms.

Id make a lot of different dishes in my Crock Pot, especially now that it's winter and FREEZING!!

But as far as salads go, I LOVE them and have no problem eating them every day! I mix it up with a variety of toppings and protein but I never get tired of my fresh veggies!
