Interested in Getting a Food Scale

Hi, I am very interested in buying a food scale so I can be more accurate with logging. Any suggestions? Does it matter which one I get or are they all pretty much the same? Thanks.

You don't need anything fancy, just a basic food scale! I've seen suggestions that you get one which weighs in grams as well as ounces - grams are a smaller unit so will be more accurate with your weighing. I always weigh in grams but then I live in Australia where all weights are metric anyway!0

Get one that measures in 1g increments ...or whatever the smallest measure you use is!
One with a big weighing area is good too, it's easier to fit bigger bowls/containers on it0 -
This is the one I recently bought. Weighs in grams and ounces up to 12 lbs. Nothing fancy but does the job and inexpensive.

I have this one and it's brilliant. Digital is much better than the old kind.

I have this same scale and it's been great.0 -
Get a digital. Some can switch grams, oz, pounds but what is the best is you can use any cup or bowl with mine and then reset to 0 so you then weight whatever. Then you can reset again and weight the next ingredient. Sounds silly but it changed how i eat over night. It was around $20 bucks at Walmart. Good luck to you.0

I rarely use the bowl because it can be reset to zero while something is on the scales so can put my eating plate/bowl on and add foods/ingredients one at a time.
Can switch between gm and oz and between fl oz and ml too.
Weighs up to 5 kg.0 -
Check out groupon. I got a great deal on mine and I'm really happy with it. Make sure you get a digital one that can convert units. I just looked on their site and they have two different scales that are both around $20.0

Haha, I use a postage scale. It's super not accurate, but is legal to the 20g. And it cost like 2$. And can weigh up 1 kg. Can reset to zero with a plate, easy.
Who need to be accurate beyond 20g? Your food content probably varies more than this (like 1 lbs of beef fat content is beyond that 20g variance).
It you really want precision, I've heard Tanita makes the best scales.0
