Another FitBit Flex Question

Why won't my Fitbit Flex track my stairs that I walk? I received this on X-Mas yet I haven't had it register on stair that I have climbed. What am I doing wrong?

    I didn't think the flex tracked stairs. The new one out, the Force does. I have a flex and as far as I know it just tracks walking steps/other activity.

    lilbearzmom is correct. The Flex does not measure stairs. The One and the new Force do though.
