New member that has to change but does not know how.

Hello everyone,

I am a single father of three young children and I am very over weight. After a stroke and a battle with cancer, I let myself go from 300lbs to over 500lbs.... and now my doctors are telling me that if I do not change everything about myself, I will die...

I am ready for this journey... just not sure on how to do it so if anyone has any tip or words or wisdom...I am hear to listen.

Hoping that this site will be a tool I can use to help make the changes I need.

    One day at a time.
    Mistakes and bad days happen, don't dwell on it the next day is a fresh start
    make rewards for yourself that are non-food based.
    get a few friends on here for encouragement
    take progress photos even if no one ever sees them


    baby steps man. They add up!.

    literally one day at a time, one meal at a time.
    I learned that the hard way, I used to imagine how I would ever lose ALL my weight and it became too overwhelming.
    I learned to break it down into doing a good job today.
    Start walking, even if you can only manage a few minutes.
    Calorie count and aim to eat as much whole food as you can.... oatmeal, meat and vegetables, give your body some energy to live off.
    Get junk out of your pantry and out of your life.
