It would be easier to offer advice if you made your diary public.0

How many calories are you currently eating?
Are you weighing your portions with a food scale, using measuring cups, or eyeballing portion sizes?
Are you currently exercising?
Are you eating back the earned calories after exercise?
If so, how are you estimating your burn? Heart rate monitor or MFP/machine estimates?
How long has it been since you've seen a drop on the scale?
It's tough to give advice without details.0 -
You joined sometime in November and you've lost four pounds WITH the holidays. What are you hoping for! You're doing great.
That said: if you want suggestions/advice, open your diary for folks.0 -
I started to make real progress when I deliberately built exercise into every day.
The first 6 months on MFP were lacking this and I thought I could take shortcuts to where I need to be, not the case.
I am not one to 'work out' but I have become fanatical about extending walks, taking stairs and generally doing things in the most active fashion.
If I purely focus on the intake side of things I can stall and lose motivation quickly. Plus being active IS fun.0 -

I've had results the entire time I started, from June to now.0

Like others have said...great job loosing 4 pounds over the holidays! I found that I HAD to build workouts into my weight loss, I was loosing 2-3.5 pounds per week at first but as my schedule got busy around the holidays and I wasn't running outside anymore my weight loss dropped to around .5-1 pound per week and then I hit a plateau. Also, log everything. If my kids had chicken nuggets and I had one, I would log it. Also, get your water in. Divide your current weight in half and that is how much water you should drink per day. This really helped me. Most importantly, don't give up and keep going! Once everything clicks and you find what's working for you it will all be worth it. Good Luck~0

It's still private and we still don't know anything about your routine. Hopefully you got whatever answer you were looking for.0 -
I joined in ending of sept didnt see any results for about 4-6 weeks and thats including gaining 6lbs when I first joined. But I wasnt logging everything including my coffee and creamer down to my wine in take. Then I had to do a trial and error with my calorie goals and noticed 1400 works for me. I measure my coffee creamer now, I even measure my wine now but I only drink the wine now if its in my calorie goal for the day. So make sure to log everything for a week, re evaluate where you can tweak your servings, for instance I cut back dramatically on my coffee and creamer and found what worked for me. Now a smaller portion at dinner time I feel full. Its going to take time but see what works for you and then go from there0

This really needs to be answered for us to analyze this stuff.0 -
I joined here after I'd already lost 23 pounds, because I was searching for discussion forums on weight loss and fitness, so I had results already when I got here, but the beginning of my weight loss process was very slow and gradual. So much so that I can't say exactly when I started. Instead of trying to change everything all at once, I made small changes, one at a time.0
