I'm almost half a success. I stay motivated by reading success stories on mfp daily. I also stay motivated by noting all sorts of victories beyond the scale. Measurements, better results from my blood work, lifting more, increased endurance, clothes feeling loser, getting less out of breath doing normal activities. I also break my total loss into small goals of 10 lbs. Every 10lbs I celebrate with a new outfit, mani pedi, or something else that makes me feel pretty. I then take pictures and compare them to my before to see how my daily actions are slowly giving me great results.

    Good luck!

That's a great idea to note the none scale victories!

There comes a point where you won't need motivation anymore. It's just my life now. I workout, I stay in my calorie, I see results. There's no magic formula. If the scale stops moving, I might adjust a few things, but there is no quitting option now. I live my life like a fit person.

Log everything religiously, no matter what happens. If you blow it one day, log it.

It takes about 3 weeks for something to turn into a habit (At least in my case)

Working out is not a chore for me, in fact I look forward to it; it becomes apart of me.

sign up for a race that is in June. you now have a good reason to stay in shape for the next six months. make it something outside of your comfort zone, like a Spartan race, or a half-marathon, or something.

I took weekly progress pics to keep myself motivated. Took measurements and kept track. I agree with another poster, eventually this becomes routine. You find a sustainable path for you and you keep progressing. Another thing that helped me was not cutting anything out of my diet. I still eat the same things I used to, jist with better portion and being mindful of nutrients. I still eat ice cream, pizza, and a lot of things that before I fully committed myself to this would've perceived as "bad". Learning there were no good or bad foods really demystified dieting for me.

This! Being consistent and patient. Motivation comes and goes you need to form good habits. Logging and exercising are now part of my daily routine, just as showering and brushing my teeth are.
