New Year's Resolutions...

I just heard this approach to the dreaded 'New Year's Resolution' ....instead of saying: "I will quit.....", say to yourself: "I look forward to having a flat stomach....or I look forward to when I weigh...." or whatever your true goals are for the New Year...

The brain does not respond well to the NEGATIVE (eg: I will QUIT something) - Your brain doesn't WANT to QUIT doing something.

However, choosing a positive statement, always is inspirational for the brain and it responds to this and wants it to happen.

Just though this is SO true (for me anyways) when approaching anything new.

This, AND....setting specific goals...ie I will run a 5K in May, then find a 5K in May and register. Or I will work abs at least 3 times a week, instead of I will have a flat stomach. It is unfair to expect a flat stomach if you have 75 lbs to lose, but it is fair to set goals that will get you closer to that ideal.
