I joined MFP back in June or July and I have been off the wagon since Oct or so...ever since I was not able to swim at my gym anymore. I tried the Atkins diet in Nov and I was really impressed with the weight I lost during induction phase (6 pounds) and then life happened and I didn't stick to it.
I'm back and I would like to find friends who are also doing Atkins or other low-carb diets - for my body type, low carb seems to work better for me than just reducing calories...probably because I don't eat a lot of junk in the first place.
Also, I have tried looking for the low-carb support forms and I can't find them - does anyone have a link to them?

I'm also on a strict carb diet, too! The average american is supposed to consume about 55% of carbs, 30% fat, and only 15% protein. What my doctor planned for my body type was down to 20% carbs, 45% protein, and 35% fat.
I am not supposed to consume any fruit because the body converts the excess sugar and excess carbs into fat.
I can only eat it as a morning snack and only up to about a 1/3 of an apple without the peel.
