 I have been trying, to lose this weight i am overweight and the doctors say that it is begining to effect my health. but it just seem so hard to stay on track, i could be doing great with exercising reguarly and eating the right things but there is always that something that seems to set me back whether it be a rainy day that interferes with walking the track or a birthday/ holiday parties filled with tempting goodies screaming my name, to being just plain bored and eating even when im not even hungry. Holloween wasn't a helping hand in weight loss being that i ended up taken a group of my nephew and his friends trick or treating, i found my self tempted with candies.i am looking for a motivational boost because it seems as if it is only getting harder, especially with thanksgiving and christmas right around the corner, is it just me that feels this way??

No way is it just you! I am feeling the same pressure. Everyday, take 5 minutes at some point to remind yourself why you are eating better/exercising. Write it down in a journal or on your blog here. I read a quote the other day and i can't remember EXACTLY what it said, but it was along the same lines of:
"Our showers don't last forever, thats why we take one every day. Motivation can't last forever either, a little each day will keep you going".
If you don't have 5 minutes, give yourself 1 minute to write, just jot down ideas and it will help you beat the "holiday" blues (as i call them :-)
Good luck to you!0 -
Do u really think that is just u?! Thank God we dont have halloween or thanks giving but...I am so scared of Christmas...and we are gonna have a big family dinner and I ll be cooking all day long...but I made a promise to myself. I ll put all my food in 1 plate that will not be refilled and I ll log on every time I feel "weak"! And hope for the best!0

Don't try to restrict yourself completely on things like Bdays and holidays. Just don't overdo it and try to make up for it with some extra exercise if you know an event is coming up.
I'm not losing weight / eating better so I can never have Bday cake again! But, I don't need to eat the whole cake!
Train yourself in moderation and be particularly aware of eating for boredom (try drinking, often you're actually thirsty) stress etc. Those things you CAN control. The rest, eventually, just by learning moderation and be aware of what you are eating (ie, do you down a candy bar then another because you can't even "remember" eating the first? But if you pay attn and enjoy it, you will be just as satisfied with less.)0
