Blah - I was down to 238.8 last week and this week 239.6. Halloween took it's hold of me. I've been yo yoing between 238 and 241 for a few weeks now. I'd like to see a 237 for next week.
Soooooooooo......this week I'm at 237.9. I know that this particular weight is mostly water and so today I'm going to drink myself silly with water I have my physical tomorrow AND an appointment at the fertility clinic to discuss our options - we'll see if the doctor still feels that ICSI is our best option after the 50lbs lost on my part, the 20lbs lost on my husband's part and his varicoceles surgery. If so, we start the process after his follow up with the surgeon in January (so we know where we stand with his little swimmers).....Overall a good week though0 -
You should not weigh everyday. You body weight can fluctuate 5 pounds just because of the amount of water and sodium you have consumed. :drinker: I know that it is hard to resist tempation but for your own sanity back away from the scale..:flowerforyou:0

ITA! I sometimes go for 2 weeks without stepping on the scales - and what a great surprise I have every time!0 -
Morning Canucks! Another great week for me - last week I was 204.8 and this week 202.6 - so a loss of 2.2lbs!! It's crazy to think how close I am to goal #1 (under 200lbs); hoping I can achieve at least that by Christmas ~ Christmas party season is starting up so hopefully I can make smart choices but I'm so looking forward to the yummy food.
Pam is your fertility specialist recommending ICSI based on your weight alone?? My DH and I went through fertility treatments last summer to get PG with our daughter. I was 250lbs when we were first referred, 225lbs at our first consult and around 215lbs when we went ahead with our treatment. I have PCO patterns and my DH has poor motility due to Chemo treatments 7 years ago - we ended up doing IUI with u/s monitoring and hCG trigger to ensure ovulation. This is a much less expensive option to IVF ~ perhaps this is something you guys might be candidates for. Regardless, good luck at your appointment!! :flowerforyou:0 -
Hi everyone! I am down to 207, glad to be losing but getting a little un-motivated. I need to get back to exercising so tonight is going to be family Wii night, a little bowling, some golf and maybe a hoola-hoop competition. Glad everyone is doing well. Have a great week.0

Nah - I have PCOS (seriously, when I have an ultrasound they bring people into the room to see how textbook the case is) and have never been regular. My RE 8 years ago suggested Clomid but then when we realized that DH has extremely low sperm counts they suggested that ICSI was the only option (<1M).
The rest of this might be TMI but,
In Sept. DH had surgery to fix varicocles which they think was the cause of the low counts. Typically that will bring him back up to 50% of normal, which means ICSI shouldn't be our only option at that point. We have to wait 90 days from then to determine the impact of the surgery which is Dec 19. He doesn't get his results though until end of January so we're going to talk to her about it tomorrow because my understanding is that if it does bring it up as high as we're hoping we can go with the IUI (for the PCOS) instead of the ICSI...or, if this metformin ever starts to work........we can have it happen naturally. It's at the point where it's trying and failing. So a little more weight or little more medical help might be all I need to push through and ovulate.0 -
Pam, sounds to me that if the surgery worked liked it's supposed to you guys just might be good to try IUI! I have 2 friends that are also textbook PCOS and their RE's are letting them try IUI or a Super Ovulation cycle. Oh I hope it worked!! I'll have everything crossed for you and hope that you get fantastic news in the new year!! I definitely think that my weight loss had a huge impact in our success, it certainly can't hurt anyways.0

I forgot to check in, sorry guys. I am maintaining which is way better than the gaining. eating a little bit better and definitely drinking more water. hopefully next week will show a little bit more results of how I've been working. Have a good weekend Canadians!0
