New me for 2014

Today is day 1 for the new me for 2014. I have tried many different types of diets and of course the fast track diets DON"T work. I always gained the weight back. So I am starting a new diet program that I have designed just for me. I learned to take it slow and to make lifelong choices from day to day. If I cheat, it's not the end of the world. I just need to readjust and keep going. I learn by my mistakes. So this is a learning lesson for me. Not out to please any one but me. My current weight is 226.8 and my goal is to get back to 150 lbs. Looking for motivated friends who are serious about weight loss and can give me advice along the way. Thinking about doing the Couch to 5K soon. Has anyone out there tried it? If so would love to hear about your experience.

Couch to 5k works!!! When I started, I was 280 and couldn't run for a minute straight. Now I run 5k or more at least twice a week. Just take your time, and if you're not ready to move on, then repeat workouts until you are ready. Feel free to add me.

    Welcome to MFP!

Great plan, your are right . . . just take your time, if you stumble - regroup and move on.

It really is a learning process - learning how to eat better, learning what portions really are and learning how to really recognize hunger verses want

I thought about the Couch to 5K but I guess I am really not into running - this year I am focusing on working with weights!

    Good luck to us both!

Weight training is good! I have a lot of weight to loose, so weight training is also a part of my daily exercise. Don't want that loose fat just lying around as I loose the weight. I want to tone and loose at the same time. I had a friend who had the Gastro bypass done. She lost over 200 lbs, but the excess skin was not sexy at all. So I plan to do some kind of weight training at least 3 days a week. Best of luck to you and me too!
