Anyone else training for a big race?

I signed on to do 15K run in March as a goal to help meet my weight loss goals. I just started training earlier this week. So far. So good. However, the farthest distance I ever run is 5 miles. So I'm feeling a little intimidated right now. So if you are training for a race or thinking about it, friend me please. If you have some helpful tips, don't be afraid to share.

  • I wouldn't say 'big' but I signed up for a 5K in the summer. I can barely run 30 seconds without having to stop so this is a good first step for me.

I'm with ya! One of my New Years resolutions is to complete 5 5Ks. I'm not much of a runner either. :). Good luck!

I'm not a runner what do ever, but I can suggest just a little at a time! I'm training to run the 5k color run! I'm nervous because I don't run!
  • When I started out, I could only run for 30 seconds at a time. Then I could run for 1 minute and it increased over time. So before you know it you'll be running for 30 minutes or longer.

Yes, I am doing a half marathon in Feb. It will be my 5th one. It will be a challenge, but it keeps me going during this very cold and long winter.

I'm training for the Paris Marathon in April as well as the Manhattan Half later this month, NYC Half in March, and the Nike Women's DC Half in late April. That's my Q1 race calendar so far. Feel free to add me!

    Hello!
Yes I have Tough Mudder in March, which is 20km, and a half marathon in July (it will be my 4th half marathon)
I never in my life thought I'd call myself a runner, but I am proud to say that through being unbelievably stubborn, I have achieved more than I thought possible.
    You can do it!!!
Anyone who wants to have a great support team can add me :)
