New & Needs Motivation

I am new to myfitnesspal.com. I have been using the app on my phone for months now but never realized there was such a following on the actual website! I am currently a senior at the university of north texas, working full time, and still trying to maintain a healthy way of life. I get exhausted constantly from always being on the go but I want to get that feeling again of going to the gym for an escape. I have been trying to eat healtheir and get in to the gym at least 5 times a week for the past 2 years but in the last 8 months or so i have been slowly falling out of my routine. At my worst i weighed in at 160, and my jeans were getting hard to put on, now i am down to 145, but was 138 at my lowest. I have gained back a noticable amount of weight and want to slim down again. My boyfriend is entering the Texas Shedder Competition in Austin Texas next spring and i want to be there to support him and eventually compete myself in the bikini show. I would love to make friends on MFP and help one another out. I want to be held accountable for something. I need to get remotivated. I need your help!

    We have very similar goals (you look smaller much smaller than 146 tho)! I started out at 149 lbs and now I am 140 and dropping!! Lets work together to reach our goals!

    That sounds great!! how long did it take you to get to 140? My body is very reactive. I started up my diet again (Ugh! like i do every week!) and if i stay on track and get into the gym atleast 4 times a week i begin to slim down pretty quickly. but i have trouble keeping it off!
  • I feel like we are in the same boat... but my goal weight is 150. That is optimal for me. I have about 20 to loose. I do go to the gym regularly though. I run a lot and teach yoga, but it just never seems to be enough to maintain my weight. I have gained about 10 pounds in the last 2-3 months and it is so frustrating! I am sure we could help eachother to reach our goals. If I truly stick to my calorie range and excercise, I slim down nicely. It is just keeping going and staying motivated!! I need help! :) Let's help each other.

    Just for my background, I am a busy mother of five. Besides teaching yoga, I stay home to take care of my family and all that goes with it. Our lives may be very different, but our goals are the same.

    We are in the same boat! i would love to help each other!! I feel i am very informed or the basics of diets and general works out - my boyfriend is very into doing research when something excites him so for the past two years we constantly talk about how our body breaks down certain foods and how it responds to different work outs!! what are you currently doing in the gym and eating? I am trying to stay under 1200 calories a day with long cardio sessions and drop sets! i would love to hear back with what you are doing!
