Xenical

Hi guys!
Now I am looking for some POSTATIVE feedback with Xenical, I DO NOT want any criticism about taking Xenical.
I have just finished weaning our nearly 13 month old daughter and am going to start taking Xenical along with using MFP as well :)
Have any of you have really good results with it?
Did you eat extremely healthy to avoid the side effects or did you eat what ever you were feeling like? I am going to be on them for 6 months :)

Why on earth would you ask for only positive feedback? Why even bother asking for feedback if you only want one point of view?

Truth hurts, xenical is a waste of time and money and will never, ever get you long term results. Talk to you in 3 months when you're $150 poorer and at the exact same point. Adios till then.

OP wants only positive feedback….why even bother..

OP I think this is a great plan for long term success…..hoorrray raindrops full of gummie bears are falling…

also I do not know what POSTATIVE feedback is…does anyone else…?

why would you inject something that causes side effects when you can lose weight naturally via calorie deficit and moving more?
  • no need to be so ****en negative, only asking!! thought this site was a support site as well!

So it blocks fat like Alli in the States? Gross...

OP: Dietary fat is set up as a macro here for a reason. We need it to absorb nutrients, for one thing. And for women, it regulates our hormones, and why would you want to mess with that? Eat a balanced diet (including fat) but eat less than you burn and move more.

I'll assume all those stars are the rating you give my response.

This community doesn't support quick fix, wallet deflating garbage.
I am extremely supportive of people meeting their goals by making positive changes in their lives, eating right, exercising, and working towards being healthy, active people.

Would you only ask for positive feedback for smoking? For recreational drugs? For any other medication which may have horrible and disgusting side effects? Why would you put your head in the sand about the negatives?

Basically Xenical is a negative reinforcement drug. It forces you to eat low fat by making you crap yourself if you don't. You get the same results not wasting your money on weight loss drugs and new underwear and just counting calories. Sorry if that isn't positive enough for you.

If you're about to make a really unwise decision by buying into such things, then we are supporting you by giving a negative opinion - so you don't do it.
  • I know the side effects and all that crap, I was just ASKING for positive results not a judgement

When a friend of yours comes to you with a silly, risky plan which you know will just waste their money, do you just wave your pompoms, or do you tell them its a bad idea - like a good friend would?

It is not supportive for people to just tell you what you want to hear. It is also not judgmental of us to tell you that stuff is crap. We are not judging you.
  • sorry that wasn't aimed at you :)

These are not the droids you're looking for.

No, seriously. You're not going to find support here for fad weight loss supplements, or Rx Drugs for quick weight loss.

    Best of luck.

Maybe try a caloric deficit and working out...
  • I know, all I was asking was for some positive results, not being mocked for my spelling or anything else, just wanted to hear from people who had good results from the product!

I tried it, years ago, and here I am. It was horrible, it makes you crap oil that seeps out your bum like something not human. It didn't really help me lose any weight and when I stopped taking it. The small amount of weight I did lose went back on. and then some. The positive side of it... honestly, and I am not being argumentative. There wasn't one. At least not for me.

I don't think anyone is judging you, just being honest. They ARE trying to help you. Taking offense and telling us to grow up sounds about like a kindergartner sticking their fingers in their ears and saying lalalalalala when they hear something they are too immature themselves to want to listen to.

Good luck, I don't believe in drugs for losing weight, my doctor once told me, if you find a drug that works, chances are it's going to kill you. Diet and exercise is the only way to do it and do it right. That's enough for me, I'd like to be around to watch my kids grow up.
  • ndj1979: no ****, you don't think I know that already? No need for you to judge, do you think some people find it hard to lose weight due to medical problems or a you just "perfect"

Positive opinion? For some people it provides hope and can kick start a weight loss program. It can provide a person with confidence, but needs to be taken in conjunction with positive lifestyle changes. These include a healthy diet and regular exercise.

If you can change the road that led you to where you are, Xenical can help.

With all weight loss programs, there is no silver bullet pill that will not permanently fix things. You need to maintain the healthy lifestyle after you stop taking the Xenical.

Was this the positive you seek?

please explain your medical condition in more detail…

Does it prevent you from losing weight through calorie deficit?

I don't know, do you know that already?
  • jeffrodgers1: YES thanks SO much for not judging, that was all I needed to hear, I really appreciate your response! :)

Just a heads up, you probably wont like my response either.

I took Ally to help me lose weight and all it did was mess up my stomach. I don't know if xenical works the same way, if so it will suck, you wont like it and your money is gone. If it does work, you'll gain the weight back if you haven't changed your eating/exercise habits.

I'll add that I had also tried Slim Fast, Special K crap, Dexatrim (back in the old days), Atkins and probably others. None of them worked. In fact, nothing worked until I learned to change my eating habits and to move more. It takes time, dedication, planning and just plain work.

    This is what I did.

First, I started walking 30 minutes a day. Eventually I was running 5-10k (after losing 40lbs)

Then I started logging food and saw how horrible I was eating. Then I started to eat healthier foods, like oatmeal & fruit instead of cereal out of a box. I found that I was full longer and didn't crave anything, most of the time. If I did have a craving, I waited until Friday and had a normal serving of whatever it was I wanted.

I started planning meals ahead of time. This is probably the most important one. And weighing my food. I learned that 1/2 cup and 40 grams of oatmeal are 2 different amounts, but both are one serving. It all adds up.

I lost 40lbs from January til May 2011 and now that I've just come off a large dose of prednisone, I'm basically starting over. However, I did this before, it was a hassle sometimes, but it was healthy and easy to do! The lbs are already coming off and I know I can do this.

You can too. Have confidence in yourself and look for people to support you in your transition to healthy habits and a slimmer, healthier, you. Good luck!
  • TrailRunner61: thank you!! Your response was great, thank you for your advice, thank you for not judging me I will take all of your advice on board! :)

Keep in mind that this drug will also reward you with some rather negative consequences if you eat something unhealthy.

For the record, I tried Xenical and we just won't talk about the Mexican dinner fiasco of 07.

That being said, if it helps and provides hope and helps you kick start a healthier lifestyle, its worth trying.

    Feel free to add me.
