Used treadmills-how to find/choose?

Hi, all!! I'd like to get a second-hand treadmill. Realistically, I'm just not going to walk outside while it's 2 degrees with a -20 windchill. Also, I have the space to put it in the room with the television, so I'll be more likely to use it there while catching up on a show. Any suggestions for the best way to find a "good" used treadmill? Thanks, MFP-ers!!!

Get one that has at LEAST a 2.75 CHP motor. Don't cheap out. If you do, you will get a piece of crap that wobbles. You don't need to spend thousands, but look to spend 700 and up, even used.
When you find one, google the model number and see what reviews are on it. Then go and try it out, let the seller know you want to try it though just as a fair practice.0 -
Thanks! Will it matter about the CHP if I will only be walking, not running? (I have bad joints.)0

You can get away with a lower one, but know that generally speaking, when the CHP is lower, so is the quality of the treadmill, leaving it flimsy.0

Thank you! I'd never even heard of CHP. I guess I have some research to do!0
