Runners !

So I stepped away from myfitnesspal to try to do it on my own, with the only success being that i gained 20#. So I am back. I ran my first half in several years in 2013 and am going to be running my first full Marathon October 2014!! Anyone else have any running goals for 2014?

I am doing the Rock and Roll half in March, the Hottest Half in August, and I am looking for a full to do in the fall.

I typically only run, but my 2014 goals are trying a sprint triathlon and I'm also doing the Ragnar Relay! My only NY Resolution was to try a new race barring injuries and those are definitely both new to me!

My goal for 2014 is to run at least 1 race of any distance every month. I am shooting for a half in September and I have already signed up for a Century Ride in June. My January race is on the 18th and it's looking to be pretty cold.

I sarted ParkRunning last year, and did my 30th run on New Year's Day! So one of my goals is to earn my 50 ParkRuns red T shirt.

And now that I can consistently run 5k in under 30 mins, I'd like to run a 10k in under an hour.

To beat my personal bests/ a few milestones over the distances I have run before - 5k, 10k, 10 mile, half marathon and marathon. There are a few 5k and 10k races I have scheduled and I would like to break 19 minutes and 40 minutes respectively.

    Yep. Parkruns all the way!

Full marathon on April 26th in Nashville. Probably should have planned my first on a less hilly course but should be a good time regardless.

Current goal is to run 4 half marathons (at least, debating on a 5th) and to hit 1K miles run/walked. And break 02:15:00 for the half marathon....first step is to break 02:25:00 in March.

Current goal is to run 10k under 45 min. Maybe around 32 min eventually. I have no interest in half or full marathons tho. Too boring. Maybe I will sign up for 10k mud run this year, will see.

I've got my first Tough Mudder in April, and I am planning on running my first half marathon later this year.

running first half in March, wanted to run my second half in May but will not be able to make it out to Cali for that race. I have already signed up for another half in November. I have smaller races planned in between my two halfs.

My first full Marathon is this July, my second ever half marathon is MAY (part of the marathon training schedule)

I am currently in 3 running series.

Warrior Dash, Tough Mudder and I am currently registered for a spartan sprint and heaven help me, I'm probably going to attempt the spartan trifecta especially since this year one of each of them are within a reasonable distance..

I worked my way through the C25K last year and, as someone who used to HATE running, I love it now! I did two 5k races last year, and will probably do several more this year. Also planning to do Warrior Dash at some point, and the Detroit Free Press half marathon in October. Not sure if I'll ever be interested in doing a full marathon - depends on how the half goes!

I'm trying to get a half marathon PR (sub 2 hours!) in March or May this year.

After that, my goal is to take a bit of a distance running break and focus more on strength training and swimming for a bit. But I reeeeeeally want to hit my time goal first, dammit! I've run 4 half marathons and weirdly, my best time was my very first one--I want to actually improve!

#1 goal above all else: don't. get. injured.

I'm planning on running 2 half marathons this year (my 7th and 8th) and hoping to finally get a PB of under 1:48 at some point!!

I've also started ParkRun recently and I'm aiming to beat 24mins for 5k.

    Watch out 2014!

I'm still a little too big for full marathons, but at 5'9" and 225 lbs. I plan on running a 10k in less than an hour at the Christie Clinic in Illinois this April.

I'm doing a half marathon on the 18th of this month. I'd like to beat my time since I did this one last year. I have another scheduled in February but I'm not sure I'll get to do that one. If not I'll schedule another half in the fall sometime.

I'm thinking about doing a full... but still not sure. If I decide to do a full it will be the LA marathon next year.

My goals, number one is to keep running. I just started in Oct of '13. Have done two 5k's and now training for my first half in March of this year. Not bad for an old man. lol

In 2013 I set a goal of doing one official race every month and ended the year with one Half Marathon, three 10ks, two 4 Milers, nine 5ks and a Warrior Dash. I won't be doing as many races this year, but will go back to some of the local ones I found through last year's goal that I really liked (like the one that had both French toast sticks and breakfast burritos at the finish!).

This year I am doing the Glass Slipper Challenge at WDW (10k Saturday and Half on Sunday) and I want to get a Full Marathon Relay team together for the Marathon of the Palm Beaches in December as a relay will be the only way I will ever be involved in completing a full marathon!

Most of all I want to learn how to run properly. Currently I am at about a 12 mm pace for my races, but I run and walk them. After my Disney weekend in February, I am going to start over with C25K and then the B210K and learn how to actually run the whole distance. 60 pounds ago, I told myself that a run/walk combo was all I was capable of. Now I think I capable of more!

Oh and I signed up for a duathlon in June!

Good luck to everyone with their goals! :drinker:

I am signed up for 3 spring Half Marathons:

Rock n Roll USA (in DC) in March
    Carmel (Indiana) in April
    Indy Mini in May

I am debating on whether to do a local race in June. I will probably cave and do it.

I have not even begun to plan any fall races but I am sure that there will be some. If my doctor gives me the go ahead to begin baby making, my husband and I will keep our race schedule local this fall due to financial and pregnancy concerns. If my doctor still wants me to wait, I will cry and plan a half in someplace fun as a consolation.

I'm already signed up for a 10 miler in April. Goal is 90 minutes.

As of now... that's my only goal. Maybe I'll do another half with a goal of 2:00 (did my first without really training for it this fall and finished in about 2:18).

The only race that I have on my schedule is the Litchfield Hills Road Race in June. My husband and I do it every year. Last year was the worst run I have ever had. I had foot issues and had to constantly stop and walk. This year I plan on training for it and have a goal in mind for time.

I might look up some 5 or 10k's to do but not sure yet. I enjoy running but I don't enjoy training for events.

Started running March or 2013. Did several 5k's last year as well as a mud run. Planning for several 5k's this year as well. I'm registered for a 10k in May and might register for a 10 mile drop in June.

This years goal is to complete a 10k (running the whole thing)
Next year it will be a half.

So far the only thing on my schedule for this year is my first half marathon in September. I'm playing around with the idea of a few other races but haven't decided on anything yet!

    Congrats and welcome back!!

I really slacked off on running last year Did ok in the beginning, even made some major improvements in distance but the temps raised quickly and I just couldn't get myself moving in the morning to avoid the heat like I'd done the previous years. Went out a few times but just wasn't feelin' it (as the kids say). Excuses, excuses excuses! Anyway, I'd like to get back into it this year and see if maybe I can do a 10k by the fall. As a matter of fact, today was the first day back on the treadmill doing walk/run intervals!

Really looking forward to the spring already because I HATE running on the treadmill. I seriously start to lose my mind if I try doing more than a mile at a time - something about the confinement and constant pace disturbs me deeply. LOL!
