Hi all
Got one of these for Christmas, so far just been logging my sleep patterns and walking as I haven't gone back to work or a proper routine.
Slightly confused with it though - as I use MFP to log my food, and usually use Runtastic for exercising log etc - anyone else got a Fitbit and can help shed a bit of light on this please - as I don't want to start duplicating entries when I start back up again.
Thanks all

I don't log my exercise, I have my Fitbit synced with MFP and Fitbit logs my exercise calories. Does that help?
To link your accounts, click on the app tab and scroll down until you see FitBit tracker. Click on it, then click on connect accounts (under buy).
God bless,

Hiya
I have mine synced with MFP too, but it doesn't seem to take off minutes spent wandering round0 -
I got one for Christmas too and have been having some problems. Every time I change my goals i.e. calories per day, steps per day etc, after a few hours it will reset itself to the standard amount, i.e. 10000 steps etc.
How do I stop it from doing this?0 -
Once your fitbit activty level for the day is greater than your MFP set activty level (sedentary, lightly active, etc) you will start to see fitbit calories as exercise on MFP. Often, I don't see anything until after 3 PM because it takes me that long to get up to 5000 steps (whcih is "lightly active")0

I don't have one, but some of the people on my friends list do. If you look at their exercise diary, it doesn't log minutes spent walking, but gives one adjustment for the day. If you burn more than MFP thinks you will for the day, it has a positive adjustment for the day (and yay you get to eat more!) or it has a negative adjustment if you burn less than you think with MFP. But, how it actually figures that out, I'm not sure.0

I log my exercise here and, when synced, MFP will ask you the start time of it to ensure it's not counted double.
I am not really loving the Fitbit; it seems more geared to those who are not in shape, or are just working on MOVING more (which is a great goal, just not mine, really). It doesn't take HR or body fat into account, and--at least in my case--seems to OVERestimate calorie expenditure for things like a day of walking (like sight-seeing, or whatever) and then underestimate intense exercise like Crossfit-type workouts.
It is nice for logging sleep, I'm just not won over for it as a fitness tool, per se. Are you liking it so far?0 -
Wait until it starts logging hundreds of steps that you know you never took. It will really frustrate you.0

I have one and am not sure if I like it or not will need to continue on for a while longer; I havn't sync'd it with MFP yet but will and then maybe I will like it better.0

I have RunKeeper and FitBit linked to MFP. I log my food and exercise into MFP, but my runs are linked automatically via RunKeeper. I noticed FitBit knows how many calories I am eating via the link with MFP, but it does not know what foods are eaten.
So far I do not see any duplication of effort from FitBit in my MFP Exercise Tracker, although I have been using my FitBit for less than a week. If I see anything weird, I will post on here.
