Getting back on the wagon and could use some new friends

Hi everyone - I'm not new to MFP but I could use some new friends. I got off track for the last few months after starting a new job that essentially consumed every waking moment of my life, and I'd really like to start getting back to a healthy lifestyle. A lot of my old MFP friends are MIA now, and I think having some fresh and active faces on my newsfeed would help motivate me. And I will certainly help motivate you in return! So please feel free to add me, or leave a comment and I can add you
A little bit about me if you're interested at all:
I'm 23 and a recent university grad. I started a new job in the fall teaching band as well as a whole bunch of other subjects (that I am not exactly experienced in) and I have been having a pretty hectic time ever since. Normally my hobbies include stuff like music (I'm a drummer and a harpist mainly), reading, playing video games, and fitness, but lately my life is simply work and sleep. I'm really hoping to change that to a slightly healthier balance now, not only for my physical well-being, but also for my mental/emotional health! I have quite a bit of weight to lose, but my primary goal is to just adopt a healthier lifestyle so that I am not so hard on my body and I don't feel awful all the time.

I'm trying a low carb diet atm just for month of jan and see how I go with it. I'll be dire to give you support!

Hi there! I took a 6 month break from MFP too and am now back. I'm 25, work as an oncology RN (night shift unfortunately) and it's been hard to work out and eat as healthy as I'd like. Trying to make some good changes! Would love to have some new friends!0

Hey, I'm actually new as of today. College student, and I have to ask the significance of your username :P I've played the drums since I was like five.
Anyhow, I'm just getting started at a new school (transferred and switched majors), and I want to make use of the gym there. I've been able to shift my diet pretty well, cutting out soda and a lot of unnecessary calories (though I admittedly still struggle). I'm really bad at sticking with an exercise plan, though - looking for some people to keep me motivated.0 -

I've been drumming since I was about 12. I was a music major in university and drumset was my main instrument I haven't been able to play as much since I graduated though which is kind of a bummer. I especially miss playing in bands! Not many opportunities for that where I moved for my new job.0 -
Ahh, I'm sorry to hear that! I still live with my parents for the time being, and we recently had to move from our home to an apartment for financial reasons. I had to give up my drumset... Still pretty bummed. Hoping to join a band or something soon though - I have my eyes peeled haha.0
