So, I've had small victories that don't relate with the scale; but this is my first tangible fitness one. I felt the need to share, especially just after Christmas when fitness isn't always the top of the list!

I wore out my first pair of running trainers!! :D
Time for Sale shopping for new ones!

What's yours?

  • I just started working out on December 9th. I hired a personal trainer that comes to my house 4 days a week and so far everything is going really well. I have my first weigh in on Tuesday and I know I lost at least a little. More importantly, I FEEL a lot better already. I have had a bad case of fibromyalgia for many years and I eventually gave up on the idea of me ever being fit or healthy. My trainer motivates me and he also listens to me and pushes me just a little further than what I think I can do to prove to me that I am not a prisoner in this body. When Christmas came around there were plenty of treats to test me and I am proud to say that I fought back all that temptation! I think in doing great!

Family occasions require me to pose with my 4'11" sister
and her teenaged ballet-dancer daughters. In other years,
I've hidden as much of my bulk as I could behind them.
This Christmas, being ever-so-pleased with myself
for having lost 50 pounds in less than 6 months,
I insisted on posing alone--in a SLEEVELESS shirt, mind you--in front of the Christmas tree
for a photo to post on Facebook! It's in my MFP profile, too!
