Hello all,
I am interested in getting a personal trainer for the Gold's Gym Challenge(12 weeks). My primary goal is loss weight and get shredded. The reason I want to get personal trainer because I don't know to how to use the gym equipment properly and I have no experience in building muscles.
There are a few options to get trainer listed below( in order of cost from low to high).
- One Session per Week for (30 minutes per session)
- One Session Per Week for (60 minutes per session)
- Two Sessions per Week for (30 minutes per session)
- Two Sessions per Week for (60 minutes per session)
I want to make the best use of money I spend so I need some advice from someone who has worked with a trainer before.
Please share your experience on how to make the best out of time with a trainer.
I am considering between "One Session Per Week for (60 minutes per session)" and "Two Sessions per Week for (30 minutes per session)" but still not sure.
Two Sessions per Week for (30 minutes per session) seems like a good option but I don't know if 30 minutes with trainer is sufficient.
I thought of "Two Sessions per Week for (60 minutes per session)" but it is too expensive for me.
Thank you.

When I started I went twice a week for 60 minutes, and it was the best decision I ever made. I would not have known what to do on my own, and probably would have gotten overwhelmed and given up.
If you are choosing between 1x60 or 2x30, I would go with the 2x30. It will get you into the gym at least twice a week because you know someone is there waiting for you. Just make sure that the 30 minutes with the trainer is focused and you are working hard. Be ready to go at your start time. Get there early and warm up on your own so you are ready to go. Ask your trainer to give you "homework" if necessary.
Most importantly - make sure you have the right trainer. Pick a trainer who will push you in the right way for you, and who is knowledgeable and experienced in getting people the results that you are looking for. But also remember that you have to do the work. Twice a week with a trainer is a great way to learn your way around the gym, but you have to put the time and commitment in outside of your sessions to get results.0 -
My PT sessions were 2X60mins and were great - she taught me about machines and kit I'd never usually go near. I'd suggest either the 1X60 or 2X30 - if they can devise a plan for you and you are happy doing the CV by yourself then this shouldn't be a problem. Personally, I needed her there to encourage me and make sure I pushed myself.
Good luck!0
