Eating low carb won't make you lose weight if you're still eating more calories than you expend. You will have a greater weight loss initially because carbs help your body store glycogen and water. If you eat low carb you lose those stores quickly and drop an exciting amount of weight the first week or two (like 5-10lbs). But you won't LOOK like you lost that much weight. At all. Here's an interesting article that explains just one reason why carbs are important: http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-antidepressant-diet/201008/serotonin-what-it-is-and-why-its-important-weight-loss

That being said, you should obviously do what you want. If you choose to eat low carb, so-be-it... I can't stop you. Just realize that you STILL need to eat a deficit of calories to lose weight no matter what your diet is. Eggs, vegetables, meats and nuts are kind of the basics in a low carb diet. Plan meals around those ingredients. Swap pasta for a huge pile of interesting vegetables or try spaghetti squash.

  • I'm on a low carb diet, and can personally vouch that, no, it is not easy, but YES it does work AND FAST. However, the most important thing is to eat in accordance to your macros, eating the right amount of calories, and exercising. Feel free to message me and I can help you with some delicious low carb meals. It ultimately comes down to "I hope you really love meat and cheese and aren't too attached to pasta."

  • Thanks everyone!!! I love my bread soooo its not going to be easy ha but I will try to cut back
  • I followed a low carb diet in the past. Like you, I LOVE bread :) I also followed a low calorie/fat diet (WW) for about the same amount of time. I lost almost the same amount of weight n the long run. I think if you cut your calories, and just try to eat healthier you would be happier in the long run.
I know almost everyone (I know) who starts a low carb diet usually falls off the wagon, and it takes weeks to get back on track. I think with counting calories its a lot easier to regain your footing after having a weak moment.
    Good luck

Just make sure your overall calories are lower than what you need for the day and you will lose weight...
    Carbs are not the enemy.

On my workout days, I will consume over 300 gr of carbs......
