Hey all! My name is Kim and am new to MFP. I am a 30 year old social worker from Montana. I know everyone hears the word social worker and has all sorts of first thoughts. However, I work mainly in schools facilitating bridge building after-school programs and leading violence prevention and prejudice reduction workshops across the state of Montana.
Enough about work. I am joining MFP because I have a lack of support. I was once very active hiking, biking, and adventuring all the time. But then I went to college and fell into some bad habits (you know not sleeping, eating whatever was fast, and so on). In addition, my partner has Crohn's disease and Ankylosing Spondylarthritis. His condition has limited a lot of what he can and can't do. We use to enjoy going on walks at night, long bike rides, and hiking fishing adventures.
Need less to say, I need to get motivated to get all of this extra weight off my body. I have aches and pains daily from sitting around being lazy. I use to rely heavily on my friends and partner to do activities with me but my friends have moved out of Montana and my partner just can't physically do it. Thus, I have landed here on the internet in search of something to help keep me in check. I do good for a week then I binge eat or just stop working out. I feel if I have to be accountable for my actions that this will help keep me on my journey.
So, add me if you are looking for a pal or have some great advice to share!

Welcome! You might go through the Groups (Community tab, then Groups) to see if there are any that fit your interests. Also, and I don't remember the name now, there are websites to find groups of people with similar interests locally that go out and do stuff together. I'm not talking about a dating site, it's just a social site. No, I haven't used it, but I've heard from people to have.
Best of luck to you!0 -
Thanks for the tips!0
