Anone done Vicky Pattison's 7 Day Slim? Can you recommend it? The trailer look brilliant, but I would like some feedback before I shell out £15 for a DVD. :D

It looks like the workouts are quite tough but only 10 minutes a day?! How can that compare to insanity which is at least 45 minutes a day?! My only thought is that you would have to restrict your calories a lot more. Would love to hear from people actually doing it!

I think, for a celeb workout,it looks actually quite good. And you can do more than 1 in a row. I think it is meant to get you moving if you havn't for a while. II'm not unfit at all, but goodness me I am not Insanity level yet!. I was wondering peoples views who have actually done the workout. How does it compare to something such as the 30 Day Shred?
  • I've just bought it from Amazon and will be giving it a go as soon as it arrives, will let you know how it goes x

    Thankyou! <3
  • Hi there, here's my review http://www.healthista.com/body/vicky-pattison-dvd-review/

I have been doing a new workout DVD a day since Christmas to try them all out and you can see all the reviews there. The Vicky Pattison one was brilliant as no equipment required and really high intervals good if you're intermediate (bit harder than Davina's). I just did Natalie Cassidy's and if you're a beginner looking to progress it's good - there's a lot of content (7 x 20 minute ones ranging from beginners to really advanced - lots of jumping plyometrics so big calorie burner - will post the review in a bit)

    hope this helps!
  • Yep, just saw the comment about doing more than one in a row - that's what I did. I actually did all of her ten minute workouts in one session. I was utterly battered at the end but it's a good option if you want to work hard

Hi I bought the dvd last Saturday and have made time to do the short 10 minute workout everyday and I already feel better about myself, my thighs are sore every day yay (means its working) and my belly feels less bloated.

The 10 minute work out is quite intense for a beginner like me but I have been keeping up and to me it seems like just enough. I am grateful for the 10 minute workout as I work ALOT and dont have much tiome to dedicate to exercise.

So far since last saturday i have lost 2 pounds, I have also been doing herbalife too.

    Hope this helps.

There are so many good fitness videos and routines from genuine instructors online at YouTube and the like.

I wouldnt bother spending money on a video endorsed by someone with no history in fitness whatsoever just because she lost a bit of weight recently...

And as if they lost weight with just 10 minute workouts....
  • I bought it a week ago and I've lost 6lb! It doesn't take ages out of your day and I feel so much better about myself already! I have been trying to follow the meal plans but not sticking to them completely. Just tried to be a bit healthier! I would 100% recommend this. :)
  • I also brought this DVD a week ago, I love it. I get really paranoid when
going to the gym so working out at home is perfect. I've lost 6lbs since last week
I haven't stuck to her diet guidelines but I've stuck to the calorie intake
of 1200. If I've had a bad day like yesterday (I ate at Nandos and had galaxy chocolate)
I do 2 workouts instead of the 1. I'm not too fussed about losing lots of weight
I just want a toned stomach and arms. I've never really been active so struggled at first but
I have definitely found it easier each day. I have so much more energy too!
Love it, best buy I've made and I can't wait to see how different I'll look in a month or twos time!
Gorillas are a killer by the way! x
  • She does the whole DVD with a personal fitness instructor. He leads it and she follows, it's obvious she didn't get that size without him and the diet!

Just did workouts 1 and 2. Burned about 65 calories in each. Still struggling to see how people would lose weight on this program. All you'd have to do is eat one less apple a day and you'd be in the same position (calorie wise ignoring benefits of strength training and after burn which I doubt can be much given how little you do).

I would imagine the main reason people lose weight is because the food plan has them on 1200 calories a day which we all know is the absolute lowest you should eat.

Still quite enjoyed the workouts especially as it doesn't feel like a big commitment pressing play and you can just keep going through the workouts until you get knackered.

Bit worried the stretching isn't sufficient, after those gorilla moves I can feel my thighs hurting and don't feel the stretch was enough and they are gonna ache so bad tomorrow. Though I did enjoy them! Vicky is good, does the workouts and makes it look so easy and isn't patronising.

Will see how the rest of the workouts go.
  • The whole dvd is a con really, My friend goes to her gym and she does 5-6 sessions a week doing weights and HIIT cardio sessions for an hour at a time with a trainer whilst also following a very 'clean' diet, high in protein. The title suggests she achieved those results in seven days however if you look at the daily mail articles showing her working out in Jesmond Dene ( Newcastle) for at least the last four months.

I've just bought the 7 Day Slim and just started it this morning...
10 minutes seems quiet appealing to me as I have a little 20 month old boy, run my own business and keep on top of the house, so I barley have 5 minute to myself.

Yesterday morning I did 30 Day Shred Level - 1 so today was a bit aching for trying Vicky's, but did the first session, and I thought it was quiet intense for a 10 minute session, however, tomorrow I may do more than just the 10 minutes as 10 minutes doesn't feel like a lot really, and I'd like to burn a lot more.

Thinking of doing Vickys every day, and 30 Day Shred as an when I can.
I'm also, when it's not raining going to go on long walks.

Following Vickys diet plan too, see how it goes...

    Feel free to add me.
  • How many calories would you burn doing the workouts? Xx

I only did the first 3 once each just to have a go and burned about 60 calories in one and two and only 30 calories in three! It's such a load of rubbish, I might do the others at some point but to me they are very pointless.

I'm a healthy weight and have good fitness levels so my burn will be less than someone starting out new but still how many calories can you really expect to burn in 10 minutes?!

The front of the DVD says "lose up to 5 pounds in the first 7 days" which will probably happen for most women but we all know that's just glycogen stores and water weight based on the 1250 cals a day diet she recommends not actually fat burn!
  • Are you not still burning fat for another 48 hours after doing the workouts tho similar to Josie Gibson 30 second slim

Thought I would reply again as it has been 4 weeks since I bought the DVD and I just wanted to say GET IT, I have changed not only my behavious but also my attitude using this dvd as the base. I have began to encorporate more exercise into my life, I am enjoying sports I hadn't done for years and I'm losing weight. All thanks to the confident this dvd gave me.

To the negative people; first why are you fitness dvd experts always erm not slim? Secondly, why dampen someones spirits when all they are trying to do is get motivated and if this dvd does it then whats the problem?

I really hope she does another dvd, as I would like a follow for when I get bored of this one, goVicky!!!

    Dont worry be happy
  • To all the bad reviews from people who haven't even purchased the DVD..please ignore them!!! I purchased this DVD a few weeks ago, within my first week I noticed a difference from only doing 10min workout a day, you have to stick to it however and can't miss a day and she also has a diet plan which you have to stick to, but she gives you such a wide choice and the food you can have isn't even like a diet!! The workouts are hard and you don't get a rest but when you first start they are only 10mins but do have you sweating. I have several celeb DVDs and never stuck to them - this however I am still doing everyday and because you notice a difference within a week it keeps you going and each week gets harder and harder as you move up on the workouts. I would highly recommend this DVD aswell as all the people who have tried it and reviewed it. Defo worth the buy!!

"To the negative people" what a hypocrite. Your first response has been to insult people on the way they look on this website?! You don't belong on here if you are going to make such low blows to individual bloggers who are on here trying to get healthier. Most people on here start overweight so who are you to say we can't have opinions on the quality of videos just because we are not in perfect shape?
  • I did this DVD for 3 weeks by just doing workout 1 for 10 minutes each day for the first week, workout 2 for 10 minutes the second week and workout 3 for 10 minutes each day for the third week. I also had a calorie controlled diet which i ate 1200 calories per day (half of what i used too!) but ate healthy and filling meals with good portions and loads of fruit and veg. I lost 10 lb doing this and a dress size.
The dvd is meant to ease you in and you can do as much or as little as you want so its perfect to fit round a busy schedule!

not tried this dvd might get it have tried davina fit in 15 mins thats good
  • I am currently starting my fourth week of using 7 day slim, I have been doing at least one 10 minute session a day along with further exercise. I would run between 3 and 6 miles every other day as well as doing the 10 minute sessions and on the other days I would do the first 4 sessions of the dvd, having one rest day of cardio. I also do a lot of toning exercises, I don't follow the diet specifically but I stick to the 1200 calorie intake and monitor my fat and sugar intake on myfitness pal. However.... after 3 weeks of doing all of this I have only lost 5lbs, which I found highly disappointing as a lot of people have said to lose that amount in the first week with just doing ten minutes a day. I'm not sure if I just have a slow metabolism but I don't feel like just doing 10 minutes a day would have any affect on my body whatsoever considering atleast 40 mins a day hasn't don't much difference. If anyone has any ideas to why I am losing weight a lot slower please give me tips.....
  • I have recently purchased this DVD and as someone who is already quite active I have to say I absolutely love it.
some days I do 20 mins and some days I do 50 depending on time and energy but my muscles finally feel like they are getting a proper workout.

It may be celebrity endorsed but it's great and no crap chit chat!!

    10/10
