Anyone else with Pain in ball of foot & top swollen?

I have had foot trouble for MONTHS and went to my family Dr and then a Podiatrist. X-Ray and MRI indicate that it's not broken. However, anytime that I do running, HIIT, or wear high heels (basically anything that puts pressure on ball of my foot) the top of my foot swells up and the ball of my foot aches and my toes get numb/tingly - only the left foot... righty is fine. I gave up exercise for 6 months to "let it heal" but it's not much better. Anyone else have this problem? If so, what works/worked for you? I'm super annoyed because I want to run again but I'm afraid of making it worse!!! THANKS!!

I get horrible pain on the top of my feet with most every running shoe I've ever worn until someone suggested a different lacing pattern and its been a non issue ever since. I now have them laced as the last one on this page. Might be worth just giving it a try:

I've had this problem ever since I had my second child, same thing in my foot, at first I thought it was from being pregnant but I still get it three yea later. I had a couple people tell me maybe it's gout. But idk I never asked my dr since it's only when I walk A LOT now or wear heels, and I never think of it when I'm there.

Look into Morton's Neuroma. I had/have one and it is the worst! Got surgery, but unfortunately think I have to get another :(

I have similar problems with my right foot. Dropped a piece of wood on it a couple of years ago. Tried running but it just aggravated it. Because of this I gave up running and started weight training (Stronglifts 5x5). Now my foot doesn't hurt (much).
