30 day squat challenge?

I've heard lots of good things about the 30 day squat challenge but I've also heard a lot of negative things.

has anyone tried it? and if so, was it successful or just stupid?

if you're someone who gets no exercise its probably a good thing to do and u will see some results.. . but i think for people who are already in a exercise routine you wont see much difference

i know i tried and my butt was a little rounder after a 2 weeks but that was it.. and i used 10 pound weights

currently im doing about 50 squats every other day with 20 pound weights only i think that'll show better results

    Hey!
I'm committing to completing a fitness related challenge each month of 2014 (Jan is yoga each day) and I was actually planning on doing the 30day squat challenge in Feb!
I haven't heard any bad things about it, (not that I've looked to be honest!) what have the bad reports been based around?
I think it'll be fun in amongst gym etc, you should join me in doing it!

    Kate.

I'm committing to a 30 Day Fitness Challenge every month too! January is the plank challenge for me.
  • I'm currently on the 30 day squat challenge (Day 3). So far, I like it. However, the soreness takes some getting used to.

I'm on Day 28 of the Squat Challenge (rest day, day 29 is 240, day 30 is 250). . . I'm sore, but I, OMG, what this has done for my motivation is amazing! I feel such an amazing sense of accomplishment!

I have zero reesults as far as inches lost, and don't know if I can contribut weight loss to it, but it's definitely spurring me on to doing a plank and push-up challenge next. I love the idea of keeping it going with more 30 day challenges!

But find someone to do it with you, cuz really, it takes some motivation to keep going when the going gets sore :)

Because I'm not as physically fit as I want to be and have a long way to go before I'll get there...I am going to do the 30-day easy squat challenge. :)

    This.

I started it but my legs are already really strong so I did it in conjunction with the "stair workout at home" challenge. http://www.momtastic.com/health/104283-stair-workouts-at-home/

Here's the squat challenge for the PP who asked for it. http://30dayfitnesschallenges.com/30-day-squat-challenge/#_

I am doing it now, did 110 today. I do not lift any weight with it yet, I have degenerative disk disease and I'll never be able to lift a lot anyway. My PT says that doing the squats will help my knees by strengthening my hamstrings and quads and my back just by being squats. I am always careful to stretch and walk after so that the soreness doesn't get too bad as well. (I learned that from a dance teacher many suns ago. She was a wise woman. I stretched when I did no other exercise ever.) I won't be walking tonight -- bitterly, dangerously cold, even the dog didn't want to go out -- so I will be sore tomorrow, but it's a rest day and I will make it through.
