Soreness, if you haven't exercised (or exercised hard) is because your body is being pushed in ways it's just not used to. You haven't gained any more muscles; it's just that the muscles you have not been using for a while are getting used.

Muscle fatigue and regular soreness is good. Joint pain and sharp muscle pain is bad. But since you aren't experiencing an injury, great job, you're getting in a good workout!

I'm not sure if you're asking whether or not being sore is a good thing or if we enjoy it. The second is a more fun topic, so that's what I'll answer for now.

I freakin' love it. I especially love when big muscles in the back, chest or leg are sore. However, nothing makes me feel more accomplished than having sore abs. It's a reminder that they are under there, just waiting to meet the world!

If we're talking DOMS, I do like some but not the terrible kind I can get if I go crazy :D Muscle fatigue I don't enjoy at all. I know I worked hard, but the weak feeling just bugs me.

I like feeling sore after a workout (usually jogging). I know I have pushed myself. I don't like being in pain, though. Then I know I've gone too far. Congrats on the treadmill adoption and workouts. Here's to feeling "sore"!
